So much opportunity for growth!
Operations Manager (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILApril 20, 2019
Farmer's Fridge is building something brand new, so there's no question that every day comes with it's unpredictable challenges, but if you enjoy puzzles this is the most energizing and exciting place you will ever work. I have learned more in a year here than I did in four years at another company, and I can actually see the immediate impact of the work I'm doing. Changes don't take years like they will in a corporate environment - the team values innovation and empowers employees to lead any continuous improvement projects they identify.

The business is growing so quickly that there's also plenty of opportunity to advance, and they always tries to promote from within first.
Pros
Daily fridge per diem, great benefits, bonus program, regular team events / celebrations, amazing team
Cons
Rapid change - priorities can change quickly based on the needs of the business, but it just takes some getting used to. For me, this helps keep it interesting. I'm never stuck doing the same thing over and over again.

Ambiguous business
Manager (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILMarch 10, 2019
The C suite is distanced from day to day operations. Finding it difficult to hire best match for multiple jobs necessary for expansion. 2019 seems to be better planned with clearer goals about expansion and revenue.
Pros
Free lunch
Cons
no lunch break

Supply Chain Specialist (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILFebruary 5, 2019
A typical day at work for Supply chain specialists is Checking in receiving of produce and quality. Date management of in house products and cycle counts. Management and employees could work better together in staying on the same page as far as setting and following through on process improvements for production as well as warehouse staff. Overall, work environment and staff are very friendly and welcoming although it can be stressful. These things help you get through your day. :)
Pros
Good work life balance, benefits, friendly team environment
Cons
Disorganization, inconsistent processes, no 401K, Starting PTO bank

Laid-back but Driven and Supportive Work Environment
Brand Ambassador/Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILAugust 14, 2018
A typical day at work ranged from responding to customer inquires and concerns, to going to off-site events to represent the brand. The office/work environment was very laid back and provided a fair lunch break and food compensation. The team was small, so we all depended on each other, but that lent itself to become like a small family.

Not a very organized endeavor, mismanaged terribly
Kiosk Technical Manager (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILJuly 5, 2017
owner of the company is a complete micro-manager. Unreliable at his job running the company. Will only pay lip service to your ideas. Has issues paying salary staff on time. Top-loading the company with unnecessary marketing and C-level roles, but will not fund actual tech and support roles. This is a doomed venture, as he only surrounds himself with Millennials and discriminates on the basis of age. Stay away!
Pros
None..its just a job
Cons
Micro-managed to death, owner trusts no one
