Don't Recommend... Unless you like working 60+ hours a week & weekends
Accounts (Current Employee) –  Northlake, TXDecember 18, 2018
The executive team doesn't appear to have any direction. Managers are in positions just because they were good at their job, not because they're good managers. The culture is so lazy in headquarters that nothing happens on time.

RSR Driver (Current Employee) –  Columbus, OHOctober 15, 2018
Company has sunk stock prices and looks like they're gonna be sold. If they aren't, the top tier people don't know what they're doing! Restructed the routes to be super routes so the days are longer
Pros
Great benefits, decent work/life balance, great coffee
Cons
Horribly managed, terrible refurb equipment

Last Resort Job! Toxic
Corporate Employee (Former Employee) –  DFW, TXSeptember 16, 2018
The company was great my first couple of years there and then quickly turned into a nightmare. Long hours with zero thanks or rewards. No team building. Raises and designated bonuses are a joke. HR's inability to put together a competitive benefits package not only negates any raise they give you but I started making less money because the raise couldn't keep up with the cost of the benefits. Management seems disconnected and very unappreciative. Long hours and documented savings in the millions earned absolutely nothing other than maybe a pat on the back. The best of many departments have left or are in the process. I don't remember talking to a single peer in the last 6 months to a year at the company that enjoyed their job at all. Very toxic environment and was getting worse by the day. I would apply as a last resort only.
Pros
Well, I guess you have a job
Cons
How much time ya got? Long hours for no reward, arrogant management, disengaged management, toxic environment, brutal benefits, inept HR team, no team culture, every team for themselves.

Production Worker (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXJune 21, 2018
Farmer Brothers is a terrible place to work! It is very stressful and they expect you to work like your life depends on it! Everybody gossips, lies, and hates on others. It stinks and it has a lot of critters running and flying around. Watch your back because other employees will report you for the most simplest things. No morale and they don't care about you.
Pros
Pto

RSR (Former Employee) –  CaliforniaApril 30, 2018
Management was the worse. Its a very demanding position with lots of stress. I wouldn't recommend it to my worse enemy. The pay is not good enough to what they make you do.
Pros
Benefits and unlimited coffee

Production Operator (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXApril 30, 2018
There is no quality work life balance. The union presence is weak. The raises are nominal. Healthcare benefits are progressively worse, higher premiums with less coverage. Management is a joke, they bark orders with zero understanding as to how get the orders carried out. The environment amongst the plant employees is like a high school (gossiping, telling on each other, arguing, sleeping around etc).
Pros
Free coffee, Stock options
Cons
Healthcare benefits, raises, no pto, mandatory overtime

Turn away, run fast, and don't look back.
Route Sales Representative (Current Employee) –  MidwestApril 19, 2018
Turn away, run fast, and don't look back. Farmer Brothers has done an about face and turned into a toxic place to work. The top level management has bled the company of its culture, talent, and money and is not done yet. There is no career advancement here. Do your homework and research the company and their financials to get what is going on here.
Pros
Good Coffee, co workers, so-so work life balance
Cons
Too many to list

Professional Staff (Former Employee) –  Northlake, TexasMarch 15, 2018
A dream job that turned sour precipitously. The company is reactionary to a fault. Work hideous hours with no thanks; merit raises do not meet COLA. The maximum bonus was laughable! Management is only concerned with keeping headcount down and protecting their jobs, their bonuses and their stock options. There’s a lot of backstabbing by managers and supervisors. There was not team building, department huddles or training; there were mostly unfulfilled promises and very long hours.
Pros
Beautiful facility
Cons
Roaches, backstabbing, management does not care

Sales Associate (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILApril 12, 2017
This was a good company until people from the outside took over. Non coffee people running a coffee company is a toxic proposition. Spending money frivolously, upper management micromanaging from 2000 miles away...etc etc. Good products and good people but making wholesale changes with people and procedures when tweaking was sufficient.
Pros
mostly good people, straight forward job responsibilities
Cons
Wasting money on new facilities, silly programs and other non essentials

Excellent company to work for
RSR (Former Employee) –  Stockton, CAAugust 20, 2016
Had to leave company due to family issues. This is a great company to work for. I did learned a lot during this time, everybody was really good on helping me and get results on sales to achieve goals helping the company to be on top on the industry. Also the best company to help customers on equipment service to get them going all the time.
Pros
Excellent coworkers and management
Cons
Safety when driving on snowing times
