Great place to work
Ramp Agent (Current Employee) –  San Jose, CASeptember 21, 2018
Every Fedex location operates differently, but the atmosphere is great. Fast paced and lots of physical labor. Management is great and you feel respected by them. There's plenty of opportunities to move up within the company. Benefits are amazing and they help pay for school. I'd love to make a career out of Fedex. Those you work with become part of your family. Fedex is one giant family.

Awesome benefits but sometimes shifts can suck depending on your stations hours! It's an awesome company with good pay but it can be a lot of hard work.

Awesome company but new management is very poor
Operation Manager (Former Employee) –  Petoskey, MISeptember 19, 2018
Operation Manager at FedEx Express was wonderful until new management came in and tried to change things the way he did as an Operational Manager in Washington. Would not let me hire new employees causing me to be on road for over 12 hours a day then going back to the station and try to do audits and planning and followup with couriers. Write couriers up for lack of support by higher management that was not able to support the stations
Pros
Great Company

Not enough hours
Handler (Current Employee) –  Indianapolis, INSeptember 18, 2018
It takes at least five years to get on fulltime. At the hiring event they make all these promise on extra hours and getting on Fulltime but in reality it's only 17 and a half hours a week

General work day
Lead / Dangerous Goods Specialist (Current Employee) –  Memphis, TNSeptember 17, 2018
The day starts off fast and I have learn to have the best people in place at the start. This will help you manage and maintain a flow rate well. If not this would be the hardest part of the job to keep up and that tends to break the day down. Inter mixing with employees that have a good character, it makes work life so much better and fun to be there.
Pros
get paid weekly
Cons
working in the open buildings, sometimes it's to hot or to cold

If you need it do it if you don’t DONT !
Handler (Former Employee) –  Memphis, TNSeptember 15, 2018
FedEx is a harsh environment and if you hate the heat and cold you shouldn’t work there. The work never stops! You want overtime? Go ahead ! Don’t be late to work the next day not 59 seconds late or you won’t see it on your check ! You hurt yourself? Oh it’s your fault and they’re going to write you up for it ! Don’t forget the 30 minute break you won’t receive unless it’s been over 6 hours at your 6th hour you must clock out !! Oh you can’t eat on the Ramp , if you’re on time to work you’re late but if you’re early guess what ? You’re on time ! Don’t forget the rats & roaches ! Rain , sleet and snow you’re going to work !!

Good for Benefits
Warehouse Associate (Former Employee) –  Forest Park, GASeptember 12, 2018
The work is like anything you would suspect from a warehouse. Unload and load cargo from trailers. Scan different cases with bar codes and make sure they get to their destination. Part time work means you might not get any hours here except for peak season during Christmas time. The work is mindlessly easy for regular associates but the moment they give you a radio your gonna have to make your own judgement calls. Advancement can take a while if your trying to move up. The people who have been their longest usually take priority over any new people.Breaks dont exist here. You work until all the trucks are finished. Health dental and vision are viable at the start.

Excellent company to work. Federal express offers college students tuition benefits and benefits that can be used for the employees as well. The company has been very strong and on PSP means people, service, profit. I have learned a lot FedEx and was glad and thankful for the opportunity to be there

I wouldn't come back to this company. Worst work-environment I have ever experienced.
Material Handler, Ramp Agent, and FT Courier (Former Employee) –  Indianapolis, INSeptember 11, 2018
They will reward hard workers with additional work and lazy workers will continue to be ignored. Management is under so much pressure from upper management they can't exemplify good leadership.

The culture is not healthy and it's easily the worst work environment I have ever worked in.
upper management is disconnected from reality of the day-to-day operation and only care about profit.

It is very toxic and will continue to worsen. I was told from an trusted employee a SR. Manager told him he couldn't go to a funeral because there wasn't anyone to cover his route. When the employee said he was speaking in the funeral the SR. Manager asked the employee to speak first (implying him to hurry to get to work.)

The company only cares about profit and not service. They are aware of service failures and have the resources to correct failures but they choose not to because they don't want to spend the money.
Pros
Benefits, Career Advancement (if you want it)
Cons
Toxic work environment, lazy employees, shady management, FedEx can correct problems but they don't

Fast paste, dependable employee, challenging can be fun sometime
Senior Service Agent (Former Employee) –  Crofton, MDSeptember 11, 2018
Challenging mentally and physically, fast paste hard work environment, ability to adapt to change, teamwork required. This job requires a person who reports to work on time, willing and able to adapt to changes on daily basis. Overtime may be required in a moments notice. You service the public so requiring time off during the holidays is not an option.
Pros
discount on shipping, diversity
Cons
teamwork not always enforced

FedEx is okay
Package Handler (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CASeptember 10, 2018
You have to work quick at FedEx. They don’t offer a lot hours unless your willing to work on your off day. Management only looks out for themselves. It strains your body.
