Fast-paced, challenging, but productive
Courier/Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Arizona - June 15, 2023
Driving large machinery on public roads can be difficult; take defensive driving training seriously. You will be doing all duties in the warehouse, unloading bins, sorting documents, and loading your truck with hundreds of stops worth of boxes. This isn't terrible, but there were days when I was tired before even hitting the road. The money isn't awful, but step progression takes too long. MAJOR emphasis on making delivery commitment times; this will impact your QOL. Compared to ground and other high-volume delivery jobs, this is 8/10.

Would be a great job if.
Courier/Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Richland, MS - June 7, 2023
It would be a great job if it wasn't for management. First off this isn't the FedEx it used to be company wide. Gone are the days when employees were valued and customer service was the number one goal. It has gone down the drain especially at this location, JANA. The managers lie constantly and you are held accountable, and written up for things you were never trained on. The job itself, when properly trained and given direction is easy. It's management that makes it difficult.
Pros
Great coworkers, meeting great customers.
Cons
poor management, lack of training

Back in the day
Courier Driver (Former Employee) - Austin, TX - February 1, 2023
Fed Ex was one of the best place to work. I got hired out a group of 500 applicants for one position , I was very excited and appreciative I worked very hard for the company never called in sick for at least 10 years I even sold my vacation just to work there, I got bonuses too but eventually Fed Ex got too big and everything started to go out the window. But at least I got to work for one of the best employers in the world

Driver/Courier (Former Employee) - Horsham, PA - December 27, 2022
What is the best part of working at the company? It was wonderful working in an environment where teamwork was the precedent. Also since they are an airline, I was able to jumpseat to Florida. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The pressure of the amount of volume and meeting the goals of on-time delivery. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The culture was similar to working for the government such as the Navy. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Pretrip your automobile, get your tracker ready to scan the belt, look for anyone who needed help. Get ready, go...do the job! Pulling pkgs off the belt to stack them until you could put them in sequence for delivery on the truck. Take your time leaving the building, head off for deliveries and later on pick-ups.

You get what you're willing to put in
Courier Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Corona, CA - December 12, 2022
Just like most jobs there are good people and bad. Spend your time around the good people and stay positive in your attitude. Stay away from the bad ones. Drama can depress you so don't go around getting sucked into it. Learn to be happy wherever you are. Great benefits. Nice uniforms. Do your work the best you can then go home enjoy life.
Pros
Benefits, breaks, people you'll meet
Cons
Negative coworkers or management try to make you miserable too

FedEx has no respect for family’s I missed so many things
Courier/Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Grand Rapids, MI - November 18, 2022
If you want to be just a number in a company. It may fit. But plan on working anywhere from 8-14 a day. I missed many of my childrens events. I gave 20 years to a job that could care less about me. I did make a mistake. But after hearing other stories I’m not alone. Yes and by the way it took me 20 years to top out in pay. So good luck

Fast paced, individual work with backup
Courier/Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Alexandria, VA - August 15, 2022
Decent pay. Managers are supportive, competent and (4 out of 5) low stress. Clear achievable workload. Assistance when needed. Friendly, helpful coworkers, but you mostly work alone. New routes can be frustrating. Takes initiative to find some delivery locations and facility procedures.

fedex ground offers No room for advancement ..no retirement plan
Courier Driver (Current Employee) - Alexandria, VA - July 22, 2022
Fedex ground is a dead end job. If you work for good contractor who pays well and cares about your well being, it can be easy going. Always ask to be a driver assistant before you take on a main route..
Pros
youll meet good people as in drivers
Cons
no advancement, horrible management, the weather shows no mercy
