Working for the FBI is me working not only for myself, for my children but for the country as a whole. Making sure we are protected in all ways possible.

Loved serving as an FBI Agent. Lots of room for initiative, variety of job focus, opportunity to advance and move around. Able to assist in bringing about a slice of justice.

FBI encourages independent thinkers and gives you plenty of room to do your job. Poor promotion system. Promotion is based on years you serve. Not merit based.

I always felt a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. What we do matters and we are responsible for the safety of others. There is no typical day because in law enforcement there is always something new going on.Unfortunately, executive management changes, but you realize that you have to keep the office going. Your experience means something and helps to shape the culture of the office. For me, the hardest part of the job was feeling like it's never enough or you could've done more. The most enjoyable part of the job was working for the premier law enforcement agency in the country.

In my 31 years of FBI employment, I can only say I experienced many things that can only be done within the FBI and nowhere else. As with any job, there were good days and bad days. But those difficult days counted up are a fraction of the 30 years of service!
