Worst manager in history of my career
Associate (Former Employee) –  Irving, TXJuly 6, 2018
FHLB Dallas is all about appearances. Don't be fooled by the benefits or "Best Place to Work." Middle managers are all "yes" people to their superiors. They will turn on you to promote themselves.Politics has ruined what could be a good place to work. Do yourself a favor, avoid FHLB Dallas and tell anyone interested to avoid it at all costs.
Pros

The BS one puts up with for the benefits

Contract Corporate Recruiter (Former Employee) –  Irving, TXJanuary 12, 2017
Federal Home Loan Bank is one of the best organizations that I have worked with. They are committed to engagement and encourage growth within the organization and with their bank members.

They are always striving to improve their employees experience and they give generously to a variety of nonprofits in the Dallas Fort Worth communities.

Anyone would be lucky to join their organization and great people.
Pros
Great benefits, generous bonus structure, Outstanding benefits and monthly activities to engage and enlighten employees
Cons
Interview process is lengthy and well worth the wait

A great place to work and learn about the banking industry. Plenty of security in the fact that there is constant work. Management was at the same level of any job I ever had.

Working at FHLB Dallas was an experience. The position was a temporary job that turned into a permanent position. This company has an atmoshphere all their own and I was glad to have had the experience, but was glad when the position ended in a layoff.
Pros
Great pay
Cons
Not a team environment and negative co-worker interactions.

Extreme Hours/Bad Managers/Mean Co-Workers
IT (Current Employee) –  Irving, TXJuly 24, 2015
on the surface things seem ok but after a few weeks reality sets in. They require a lot of education but strip you of decision making ability and independent thinking. All actions require multiple levels of approval. Everything is urgent, call you at home on weekends, holidays, funerals. Co-workers are cruel to each other routinely, there are a few nice ones but most are just mean. Humiliation is routinely used in meetings and upper management looks the other way. HR is oblivious to what's really going on. Stay far away from this place if you can. Check out the glassdoor.com reviews.

Great job right out of college. Leaving away from friends and family was hard, but great learning experience.

Day consisted of traveling to outlying areas to audit and report back to home office. Hardest was the travel - driving, but the people were enjoyable and cooperative. This was a great learning experience on how to be discipline with my time and workload.
