I worked in the NYC newsroom. Was paid very well, plenty of vacation. It was a low stress job. Most people seemed very happy to come to work. They had a lot of paid social events as well.

It's fine. Kinda clubby, very European but that's what you should expect. They try and make the culture less stuffy, and it works to some extent. It's harder when you are out of the office.

Colleagues are incredibly smart and well-read. Almost an academic atmosphere in the office. Some bureaus have family-like atmosphere. In general, people support each other.

My brief stint with F-T as a freelance contributor was an overall great experience. Good pay, great and rewarding work. You're working with the best people in the business.
Print and Logistics Manager in New York, NY

I work with a very supportive and collaborative group of colleagues who understand how to work to problem solve as a team. We all have strong personalities however we understand the importance of supporting each others projects and rendering assistance when problems arise. Our team leader is very open and forthcoming with information and has a hands on approach to management. He chooses to act as a guide while allowing the team to manage their territories in our own style. I work in a an industry where my area of focus is slowly being fazed out. Resources are limited and competion among vendors has diminished. As a a team we have been quite creative in our negotiations for a fair pricefor services. That said, the most enjoyable part of my job is success in saving a market, improving the service level, with a cost savings.
