Don't know what's going to happen next
Manager (Current Employee) –  Atlanta, GASeptember 29, 2018
There are a lot of good things about Flexport that are really attractive. I can understand why so many new college graduates flock to Flexport so eagerly.

Underneath the attractive benefits and the cool young people making the ship run, there is a lot of sporadic, highly political, inexperienced people driving.

Corporate buzz words run rampant and are sometimes used as excuses for poor execution. Executive leaders love the sound of "Start-up" so much that they've become irresponsible and have shied away from individual accountability.

They pick favorites. Those favorites excel quickly, even if they are unequipped to be in the positions that they are promoted to. Money-making teams get the most love and attention while teams that do not directly generate revenue are left to their own devices.

Best of luck Flexport.
Pros
Free lunch, cool office locations, growing company, covered medical, dental, vision
Cons
Resource-limited, lacks tangible and regular diversity and inclusion efforts and programs, no 401k match

Strong company that is growing very quickly but too focused on Operations
Multiple Positions (Current Employee) –  San Francisco, CAAugust 13, 2018
Flexport is leading the next generation of freight shipping by bringing easily understandable user experience to the shipping world.

The company is very concentrated on the experience of Operations team but gives little care to other teams that are strong pillars of the company.

The concentration of the environment there is make the client happy and do it quickly.
Pros
Company growth, industry change, good food
Cons
Bad training post onboarding

Flexport is a great place to work overall. Everyone at the company is very nice and means the best for everyone around them. There are plenty of snack options and a great beer selection.

Artful deception
Global Logistics Manager (Former Employee) –  San Francisco, CAApril 21, 2018
The CEO had a good vision, but doesn't know the business. The company has done well in positioning themselves as a Technology company, but behind doors there's much manual data entry, manual track and trace and buttons being pushed when operational individuals do not understand the flow of shipments. Data continues to be garbage in/garbage out.
Sadly for the employees, the company has hired so many smart fresh out of school individuals that feel this is the best move of their lives but they work them to limits. The industry is exciting, global, traveling, culture etc. But this company does not deliver their value proposition by pure technology but by many hrs of work from these employees.
The culture is absolutely competitive and still remains to be the "bros club". Very well alive.
Pros
Free lunches
Cons
Healthcare is minimal

Productive, but no job security.
Warehouse Associate (Former Employee) –  Buena Park, CAMarch 8, 2018
In the beginning the job security was there, but as time progressed work environment had gotten worse and worse. I was promised advancement opportunity and got left out high and dry in the end. Due to them not scheduling me anymore hours I had to leave and look for new work, but I was the most veteran employee there at the time, which didn't seem fair but stiff happens which is y I had left to find a new job.
Pros
Close to my house
Cons
Restroom availabilty was scepticale, and job security just wasn't there.

Office Assistant / Receptionist (Former Employee) –  San Francisco, CAJanuary 18, 2018
It was an amazing experience to be apart of the company for a brief period. I had a chance to learn from the Executive Assistants who taught me how to work in a fast-paced environment.

Typical Start Up with Unique Mission
Finance Data Operations Associate (Contractor) (Former Employee) –  San Francisco, CAAugust 16, 2017
Nice company to work for with a unique mission of aiding and facilitating global shipping thus smoothing the maritime complexities of global trade. Good interaction between management and workers. Ideas are generally received but implementation could be better. Better communication and task procedure would be helpful. Overall a very decent place with standing desks (these are great!)
Pros
Free Lunches; Standing desks
Cons
Difficult to get hired on
