This job paid well, but the balance between home life and work life wasn't very good for me, If you are a young person, looking to work A LOT of hours, this is the place for you, though this may have changed since I was there.

The benefits were very good at Flint Hills.

It seemed that they required you to work as much overtime as possible, For a married person with children, this may be difficult.

Favoritism and buddy system

Management above supervisors are bad and lack people skills and create new job titles to increase pay and stability and this company constantly expect you to work under high risk conditions and when employees get hurt insist it's the employees fault due to lack of hazard recognition skills

Hard working guys who give there all under harsh conditions

Safety isn't a true concern by management

Terrible people in management roles

Worst experience ever it’s all about who you know just to get by. The worst people in charge of things. Good enough to gain experience then take them elsewhere.

Great Culture

A lot of work and no work life balance. FHR uses MBM philosophy. Great development and chance to go up in the ladder. So much to do in the turnaround and loose life balance.

Warehouse Work

Best warehouse job in Chicago-land area. Learned how to utilize Automatic/Semi-automatic packaging equipment and fork lift operations. Management is pretty solid. Co-workers are supportive. The hardest part of the job is the unpredictability of production, and logistical ordering office. Benefits are the most enjoyable part of the job.

Great Benefits

Health Risk (With the production of Trimellitic Anhydride)

Tough but can be rewarding

As a staff level engineer, this company was enjoyable to work for. Resourcing was a little tight and led to long hours, off hour conference calls, etc. Facility reliability also caused significant time dedication. As a manager is was an OK place to work. The continual push of the culture grew tiring on the employees and was a tough message to sell when the performance at the plant didn't reflect all the results the culture should produce.

mellow place to work at.

a typical day at flint hills starts with a safety meeting followed by the work to be done for the day. what i liked was the fact that everyday i was doing something different which helped working there interesting. the hardest part was repairing equipment that was out of date and no support from the manufacturer, this made it hard to work on critical equipment. while this was a pain at times it was also the fun part figuring out the old equipment.

management, benefits

A place to learn various industrial job skills.

Load various types of trucks to customer specifications. I learned how to communicate with various types of people and how to think quickly on my feet. The most enjoyable part of the job are my co-workers.

Good learning experiences.

waste of my years labor

I would of never left they company I was with prior to fhr. They promise you the world and then box you in and tell you that you should be happy where you are at and that's final. And they couldn't care less about you're health, such a dirty environment.

it is a pay check even tho 1 out of 3 has discrepancies

youre not even a number to them
