In the department I worked in was relaxed however, my immediate supervisor was working a tasked newly assigned to her and she blamed everyone for her lack of knowledge of the job. She was not organized and her expectations were unrealistic.
Mixed messages from managrmrnt in the NH and higher up management
Manager (Current Employee) – Nashua, NH – July 10, 2018
Work is very stressful. The lack of consideration for the employees from HR and management is disgusting. They throw that transparency word around like its gold yet management and HR dont follow through and send mixed messages. Benefits are great!
Management and HR. disappointing that you cant trust them
STRATEGIC CHANNEL MANAGER (Former Employee) – DeKalb, IL – May 14, 2018
Fun to sell and drive new product development. Always trying to maximize share holder and company goals with Distributors in mind. FLIR works to solve problems that exist but that many have decided not to solve.
Service Technician (Former Employee) – Wilsonville, OR – May 11, 2018
Flir is a generally good place to work. As long as one kept busy one wasn't hassled by supervisors. They were good about letting one use paid time off at any time and for any reason. The pay and benefits were comparable to similar companies in the area.
I was very happy doing my job. I like the people who work there. I was very busy with working in Payables and also working in Receiveables. I enjoyed my position with the company and also doing the sales people their expense reports.
Hardware Engineering Intern (Current Employee) – Wilsonville, OR – February 16, 2018
FLIR is a large company that has a tight knit community of bright individuals always willing to work together. Being one of the younger employees, I never felt left out or ignored by any co-worker or manager. Instead, FLIR gave me proper training that enabled me to maximize my productivity.
Knowing the programs they use is helpful to include learning new software quick keeps you there. Always be on your toes because this company likes blowing smoke and really doesn't protect there low level employees
Assembler (Current Employee) – Stillwater, OK – December 27, 2017
Great place to work and flexible work hours. Management is easy to work with and will work with your time off needed, just a huge let down with no pay raises and have to go thru a temp service to get your foot in the door.
Production Test Technician (Former Employee) – Goleta, CA – December 8, 2017
Well we did have a ping pong table. Made some very good friends working there. people were polite and very professional. At the end of each quarter we would have entertaining meetings followed by great BBQ and drink.
Started in a small company before Flir bought it out. For a while it was fun but no place to move up/advance. Pay wasn’t great for almost 12 years of service. Family health care price is a joke. Finally decided to see what was out there and got a new job. Fellow co worker decided to do the same and go to the same place I went to. Two days before he started they decided to keep him with a counter offer. I was gone from the company no more than 30 days with no counter offer amount at all and they decided to keep him.
SOFTWARE ENGINEER (Former Employee) – Wilsonville, OR – November 6, 2017
Work there was well balanced and the people were very nice. It was a contract position for me so I didn't have all the benefits but full time employees do get well compensated. It's mostly military contracts so it's steady and not super high-paced.
