Beautiful Campus and quaint location. Enjoy working with staff. Communication is poor and there seems to be a collective agreement regarding favoritism.

As a therapist I had to manage a total of 10-12 kids in therapy as well as supervise the house parents. There was very little support from management and it seemed they were not up front when change would occur. Therapists are on call 24/7 and there is no overtime pay.

Very unstable work environment. Liers and dishonest people! Sad this place is all about the money. The kids really need a place but fumch just uses the kids to gain money. $108per kid per day. Plus tons more.

Worst Placement for Children/ Worst Place to Work

This is hands down the worst place I have ever had the misfortune of working for. This place has a cult culture and the administration is extremely judgmental! They accused my husband and I of being atheists because I sat down once during a church service because I have several medical issues (which they were aware of prior to hiring us). They expect a lot from their house parents for slave wages. You work long hours, you have meetings/trainings to attend, you have to transport the children to and from scheduled activities, you have to do a lot of paperwork daily for each child place in your home, you have to deal with whatever issues the children may bring to the home or may be dealing with that day, and of course you have to run the home like you would run any home (cook, clean, keep routines, etc). The company does not seem to value individuality and expect their staff to be "like minded". My husband and I have worked with at risk youth for well over 15 years and were foster parents for children with severe behavior problems with multiple failed placements and our success rate was extremely high for assisting these children with finding forever families. Again, we could not stomach this place at all!

Working with the children, Some of the training was awesome/beneficial like the Life Space Crisis Intervention training

The Moral conflict that comes with working here, Hard work-little pay, "Cult culture", Judgmental/incompetent management, Lack of compassion for employees and children by administration

Terrible company main interest is money from Doners

Management is very poor won't listen or take advise. Very long working hours without support with kids who need higher levels of care. Management always encourages you to lie to doners about Day to day activities. They are more concerned about raising money rather than what's best for staff and children. If your one of their favorite people you may be ok until you disagree with them. They have a very hard time keeping good staff because of the way management treats staff.

FMCH is the worst place to work as the management are unprofessional liars. The children it is sad as they put DJJ kids that are drug and predators with little children. It is so sad and as a good human being you could not see it or want to work in that environment. It has no team players and they hide and use the Church which is horrible. Our world is in trouble but it is places like this that only make money from children who need help and others who should be in jail. Stay away!

Great place to work, mission is sound. Changes are occurring within the culture. New leadership, new energy. Seems to care about the total agency. The hardest part of the job is hearing the tragic life stories from the youth.

Great start but lacking improvement

As with many new job opportunities FUMCH offers quite a bit. They have full and part time openings with an array of benefits. In the time I have worked there I have seen a decline in the compensation package leaning toward a more modest offering. They do still have full time insurance, retirement matching and paid vacation/sick time (that is if you can ever schedule it off.) The opportunity for a pay increase when offered (not always available) has been a variable 1% -3% and often based on review by a supervisor with little to no direct contact throughout the year. The work environment provides a higher stress for employees which leads to turnovers with working to cover gaps until management can scramble to find replacements or restructure to eliminate openings all together. It seems to be always behind the curve with staffing. This appears to be systemic of the organization as much of the leadership being newly hired (within 3-5 years) has a turnover being about as high as with the direct care staff. Over all this could be a great place to work although short term as the inconsistencies with management, staffing problems and lowering compensation keeps it from reaching its true potential.

Working at FUMCH for season is idea for couples. You will manage and live on campus with children who have been abused. Helping families was very rewarding.

Disorganized, Silo mentality... All departments pulling direct care staff in different directions. Do not get regular assistance as promised and are bogged down with up to 10 kids and a ton of paperwork. Nothing is streamlined.... poor management

can be stressful and is quick paced. Never a dull moment. Kids are sometimes aggressive but normally are typical kids who have been abused or neglected. Seeing behavior changes in residents is best part of the job and seeing the residents find permanence either with parents or adoption is satisfying.

Mentor young Youth and be a positive influence in the lives . Most of the children in our care as been removed from their homes because of abuse or behavioral issues. Our jobs is to help provided a normal and safe environment for the youth in our care.

Management SUCKS! Administration SUCKS! It is a church based faith organization however they do not adhere to their own rules or policies and procedures. It's an open door policy company but not really. If you have any grievance concerns management on up to the administration really does NOTHING about the situation at hand.
