Work everyday no life

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
As a independent distributor you have no life, you work everyday with no days off unless you hire someone to cover for you on Wednesday and Sunday. Not worth it

As an independent distributor you are on your own to succeed

As an independent distributor your success is up to you. The sales managers seem overwhelmed at times. The support on the market should have been better

It's a pretty easy job but no days off

It's good money for the hours you work everyday but you get no days off and work everyday. And the store managers you have to deal with make the job way harder.

Pros

Easy job

Cons

No days off

Do Not Get Roped In

If they're trying to get you to buy a route, then don't do it. They act like you're subhuman. They put all responsibility all you, even if its their constant poor decision making that messes things up. You're stuck between Flowers asking for impossible things and the stores you service asking for impossible things. And no matter how ridiculous the request, if a home office decides it then Flowers says you have to jump. There is no time off unless YOU want to pay for it. There are no sick days unless YOU want to pay for it. Pay for your own gas, your truck, and help on the route as well because you're an "independent" distributor except when you have to do everything Flowers wants you to do. This is possibly the most evil and worst company ever.

Pros

None- Do Not Work Here

Cons

Everything

Fun job

It was a nice job while i worked there, management is very hellful and want to see you succeed. You go from a company driver to an independent driver, buying a route and making more money.

Money hungry company

Used to be a good business to get into but then days are long gone. Some venders have to have 2 routes to makes ends meet. They will constantly find more ways for them to make more and you to make less.

Pros

Own boss (sort of)

Cons

Work 7 days a week, no vacation or sick days, no benefits, poor management

Good pay - long hours

Good place to work. Hours are early and oftentimes long. The pay is good if you can get your area's buying habits down. Management not always available for help.

Pros

Good pay, independence

Cons

Long hours

Terrible work/home balance

Expect 7 day work weeks most weeks. Nice working for yourself on the routes but that is about it. Pay is nice till you factor in the hours. Not worth it.

Flowers is not what its made out to.be

Remember as an independent distributor you are on your own They do not care about you if your sick have a medical emergency or death in your family they will breach you and run your route and equity into the ground Management will only be willing to work with you as long as your willing to bend over and take what there shoving they are useless incompetent idiots that have no clue and only got to there position by stroking wood

"Independent distributor"

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday you will check your order, load your truck, check your truck, service customer accounts, order for five days out, unload stale and empty trays. Sunday and Wednesday you will straighten and tidy your accounts.

Pros

Minimal supervision

Cons

Long hours

Self employment is not for everyone.

It's actually a good job to have unfortunately there are pros and cons on both sides of the coin. The days are long and short according to the direction you take. Getting up early is the hardest part of the job! If you "know yourself" as a dependable worker/owner, you will do just fine. Staying confident and enjoying the work is paramount.

Pros

Meeting different people.

Cons

No scheduled time off!

I Do Not Recommend Independent Distribution...

to anyone who is not willing to put in the time and effort that is required to build your business and relationships with customers. First and foremost, you have to establish good working relationships with your customers if you ever hop to achieve any success in Independent Distribution.

Pros

You are for the most part running your own business

Cons

You are for the most part running your own business

You control your work flow.

We are independent contractors. So we control our own work schedule. The earlier is better so you can have the stores done and ready before customers arrive to the stores. You have to pay your ownexpenses. Overhead is not that bad. You pay for fuel, truck, warehouse rent and computer rental. I have an employee working for me.

Pros

Work for yourself, pay is great

Cons

Company does everything to benefit them not benefit us the independent drivers.

Poorly ran

Long hours. I've learned how to maintain and control inventory. Management was decent. This company doesn't have a good workplace culture at all. Hardest part of job was balancing home and work life. Enjoyable part would be choosing when you wanted to go into work

self employed

don't expect any help from the company. The company changes its rules every day and most managers have no clue on the proper procedures. Was a very enjoyable job until recently with all the lawsuits

High pay contract employment

As a distributor for flowers you will work with stores and deliver bread on a daily basis. Ordering properly is key to success as too much waste will be deducted from pay. One downside as being independent is no benefits are given from company.

Pros

flexible schedule

Cons

no benefits

Self employeed

You control how quickly you get done each day and how much commission you make. Harder you work to ensure fresh product, more potential for income. A manual labor job.

Pros

self employeed

Cons

working 7 days a week

energic and produtive place to work

good place to work if interested in operating your own buisness.if you don,t mind flip flopping pay and no benntfits hardest part of the job was the hours and inconsistant pay checks, most enjoyable part was the peaple all pulled together as team to get the job done.job consists of sales, delivery keeping track of inventory and rotating your stock to insure fresh sales always.

Pros

own business

Cons

responsable for too much over head

Well run. Good mgt team

I had good guys to work with. Anytime Corporate would come down it was always positive. The Operations Mgr. is still a good friend of mine, as well as the Sales Mgr.
