Store Manager make a big difference in quality work environment. I had a excellent store Manager who took time to cross train and provide hands on assistance to each department within the store.

I have worked for food lion a total of 6 years. The pay sucks, good luck getting any kind of raise at your yearly review even if you work hard. The job is stressful and only has gotten worse because of the pandemic. It is very hard to be promoted. The good thing is it's very hard for people to get fired.

Be ready to work. The company and environment is great but you can't just sit and collect a check. Lots of workers call off so getting 35+ hours a week is easily doable.

It all depends on store if it's a good place to work. it starts with the store manager and if they don't know how to talk to people its horrible, Company structure is fine. job security is there
