Yes and no. As a new rep you are paid about $275 a week, paid out biweekly. Commissions start off at a meager percentage and work up. Once your clear $18k sold in "insurance" you are put on commission only.

As a trainee sales rep you'll earn minimum wage plus a small percentage of commissions for the first 9 months. Once you generate at least $15k in sales, you'll move to the full commissions, resulting in inconsistent paychecks. Make sure you have considerable savings, or you're living with someone who can support you through the first few years, it'll take that long to make a living wage at this job.
