Run. Run Quickly.
Patient Access Specialist (Former Employee) –  Jacksonville, FLFebruary 19, 2019
Where do I begin?
Upper management is very out of touch with reality and what their employees actually do. When we would explain to them how the calls and processes work, they were like “oh, that’s how you do it?” Basically.
They want you to complete calls in a certain amount of time, but kept adding things for you to do in order to pass your QC, making it impossible.
You lie to the clients because they think you’re in New York (where the company services), but you’re not. You have to come up with excuses like “Yes I’m in the New York location, but I’m working upstairs/in the back...” NOT. Then some of the clients actually catch on to it and get mad so you’re left scrambling because you’re not allowed to tell them you’re in a whole other STATE.
Hard to keep up with calls because there’s so many AND people are getting laid off/quitting left and right so you have to keep up. And when you bring that up to upper management in the meetings, they basically say “take it one call at a time” aka “deal with it.”
You can be promoted with no change in pay AND after you get promoted from off the phones to another position, if they’re swamped with calls, they’ll put you right back on the phones and take the position that you were JUST promoted to, away.
Hour lunches sound great until they’re busy with calls and take that away too, leaving you with only thirty minutes.
There’s so much more, but just run. The money isn’t worth the stress and headache.
Pros
It’s located near a few food options

Horrible
Billing Specialist/Customer Service (Former Employee) –  OhioFebruary 15, 2019
The upper management treats you like bad, constantly lies to everyone, doesnt give you basic tools for your job, no communication from top down, supervisors dont communicate to you either, no pay raises for promotions, no pay raises for being assigned more work, way over worked, low pay, majority of the staff are rude and talk bad about you to everyone, there are a few amazing people who work there, people dont know the systems they are in charge of, big changes happen and no one is made aware who it effects, people fired/ leave and no one is told, HR is a joke and does nothing, HR wont respond to you, lack of response from really anyone. They expect you to lie to clients to keep them happy and then deal with the angry clients later and then make up other lies to appease them. No clear company direction either.
Pros
Monthly potlucks at the office i worked at.
Cons
Overworked, no communication, poor pay, no bonuses, rude coworkers

Regional Director (Former Employee) –  Troy, NYJanuary 11, 2019
Terrible, secretive, toxic environment. you'll be assigned to projects with no warning or compensation considerations. They lie to clients daily and expect you to support the lies. Loyalty means nothing and going the extra mile will only get you punished or terminated. The company is financially desperate and will do anything to save a dollar. Run!

Very concerned about Formativ Health
Provider Enrollment & Support Services Specialist (Former Employee) –  Columbus, OHDecember 20, 2018
I'm very concerned about the future of Formativ Health. Company does not seem willing to spend money on the basic tools needed by employees to do their jobs. Company has gone through two major staff reductions in the past six months.

Account Receivable Representative (Current Employee) –  Phoenix, AZDecember 14, 2018
In one year, I experienced four large layoffs. The company is struggling to keep their head above water. No job security, most employees are in fear of losing their jobs.

Director - Human Resources (Current Employee) –  Jacksonville, FLNovember 28, 2018
Formativ Health is a growing company. As a start up it has made a lot of advancements. If you are open to a challenging work environment it is a great place to work.

Garbage
Accounts Receivable Representative (Former Employee) –  Columbus, OHNovember 20, 2018
They will look for excuses to get rid of the good employees and will keep people who do nothing. This place is garbage. Don't believe anything you're told. Outsourcing everything, unhappy clients. No consistancy in the company policies. A typical day consisted of constant changing policies that realistically couldn't be implemented effectively. Upper "management" not bothering to talk to their people or even learn how to navigate the systems they were changing processes for, and wondering why they failed. People who don't know how systems work making changes that actively screw up the process. No real goals to achieve on a monthly basis. Employees were allowed to blatantly disregard their job duties with no consequences.
Pros
Zero.

Bad culture with no clear roadmap
Senior Patient Access Representative (Former Employee) –  Jacksonville, FLNovember 14, 2018
First off, all of the 5 star ratings for this company don't even work IN Formativ Health IN Jacksonville, FL., so they are easily deceived.

In the beginning, they make is seem that they are a big happy family--sure. Management for sure is, but do they care about their employees? I'm afraid not. It's sad. This company has great potential, but the leadership does NOT know what they are doing. Changes are being made AROUND the clock, and they'll back that up during training saying "Changes are being made all the time, you guys..you have to expect it", which is totally understandable, but not to the extent when your employees are suffering.

You are essentially making appointments for the clients they have. Sending messages to doctors. Easy enough. But the metrics they set for the employees are ridiculous. They want the call to be 7 minutes or shorter, but impossible with all the criteria that needs to be filled out and said. Of course they don't know because the leadership that are making up the rules have not taken a call once.

If you're looking for a good culture job, this is not for you. If you're looking for a decent paying job and you don't care with the way you are treated, then go for it.
Pros
Decent pay
Cons
Leadership, Culture

Everything about this company is a lie
Patient Access Associate (Current Employee) –  Jacksonville, FLNovember 12, 2018
From the start they say they are a company that has a family atmosphere, and the only family atmosphere in this company is that almost everyone in upper management is either related by blood, marriage, or childhood friendships. Your schedule can change at the blink of an eye, you could have an 8-4 schedule and get switched to another team and told your new schedule is 10-6 starting the next day, no thought to any outside of work obligations (kids that have to be picked up by 6). They also pay you for lunch, that's just a nice way of saying don't make plans for lunch. You can come in with a lunch time of noon to 1 and by 9am it has changed to 1 to 1:30. So if you have an appointment during lunch and they change it, you either cancel the appointment or take the occurrence.

You are hired to set appointments for patients in doctor's offices primarily in New York. You are told to lie and pretend that you are in the office in NY. When patients call, upset and scared because their blood pressure or diabetes medication renewal wasn't calles in timely or the doctor never returned their call, you have to make up an excuse as to why this is going on. Management never backs you up, unless they are covering their own tail. Systems are constantly not working and promotions and off the phone assignments are given based on favoritism, not merit. Promises are made and when broken the excuse is always that you have to be prepared for change.

People are constantly quiting, some with no job to go to, because that place is so horrible. At a time where we were understaffed and taking on new
more... practices, a question was asked of the future hiring class we were told was coming, and instead of giving an actual answer, we were given the run around and told there were things we couldn't understand.  less
