Don't do it unless it's that or being homeless
Before Fortis the company was owned by Extended care which had many, many problems and when Fortis took it over it became worse. They were employing new staff with bonuses and paying the new people $10.00 an hour more than the existing staff. They were expecting all staff to do their relias in their shift. Double A&I, paper and computers. Shortage of supplies. No Neosporin, irrigations and distilled water. Night shift with 50 residents and two CNA's and when one called in sick one CNA took care of 50 residents. residents. When I notified the DNS he said, "You know what to do." New nurses who were clueless in the procedure in sending residents to a hospital. Nurses quitting left and right. I cannot and will not recommend Fortis to anyone. I rest my case.
Give them a good bye gift epic fail.
Please there is lots of good care companies this is not one of them. Interview elsewhere !
