The main boss is rude and throws temper tantrums. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Management is terrible. The boss doesn't know how to lead without throwing a tantrum. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Bad, stressful, awful, not worth the bad pay.

Terrible

Terrible. Shitshow everyday. When you people don’t want to work you pay the price. Dealing with nagging customers, contractors and naggy clients. Only the metrics matter. Zero work life balance. 16 hour work days, six days a week.

Good stepping stone . Not a career

Every time I get up since I got this job I been trying to improve myself. It can not happen with this company. .The condition of the equipment is disgusting. The CO workers are great when they are not dealing with the stupidity of the management. Do your yourself a favor and if you got to. Do a year but keep looking for something better

Pros

Schedule

Cons

Management, Pay.

Disappointed

Th company doesn't care for their employees , they are just a number. The management make no sense at all in their vision of the company and that is their biggest issue.

Just goto a small Carrier where you actually matter. This company and management are just atrocious, nobody with a CDL in office, treat you like a number and don’t truly care about you

Job

The office in KC people are great but about them especially safety will give you a hard time and treat you like a number and not a person. You work in the morning and get off whenever you’re done which is great cause you may work 10-14hrs and have a great check

Pros

Great pay

Cons

Corporate will treat you like a number not a person

Not a professional setting

Forward Final Mile is not a place to have a career unless you want to end up at a dead end. They will lowball you from the beginning and dont expect a raise. Regardless of the time, effort and stress, there is still no room for growth with this company as at the end of the day, your own job is not in your hands. The leadership is very poor and not as knowledgeable in logistics as they are supposed to be.

Pros

Employment

Cons

poor leadership

Ok but don't trust your pay to be right!

What is the best part of working at the company?None, the Portsmouth, Va terminal is a joke! What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Lack of communication from management to it's Owner Operators. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Know what you are getting mixed up with. The terminal is new and if you don't know what you are being paid for they will rob you!

Worst company ever to work for!

This company is a toxic environment and management doesn't care about its employees or former employees at all. The management is ran by tyrants who treat their employees as if they were dirt beneath their shoes. Trailers constantly loaded improperly, freight comes in damaged 90 percent of the time. The other 10 percent its either lost or misrouted. Drivers wait for hours to just be loaded or unloaded. Do yourself a favor and apply for anyone else but this company. You will regret ever working for this company and this location in particular.

Pros

No pros

Cons

The only con is that the management is ran by convicts.

Good money, bad work/life hours.

Pay was good. Work wasnt too crazy. Management was anything but straightforward. You would get a different answer each time you ask the same question. Ask to have a day off and be told yes today. Expect to get a phone call the day of, asking why you are not at work though. Expect a lot of "high-school" politics and favortism. You show up in the am and go home when you're done with the deliveries. Could be a 4hr route or 10hrs; depends on you and your abilities. Many times, you will get overloaded with stops to where no matter how fast you work, you wont be off until 6pm at the earliest. Thats a 12hr day since you begin at 6am. Sometimes, you get a break with a smaller route, but thats only if you are on managements good side and enjoy the fine art of brown-nosing.

Pros

Good pay

Cons

Long days, no room for advancement, two-faced management.

Pros and cons - take with a grain of salt

Well, overall is a decent company to work for. I was brought on for a newly created role, where there was zero corporate support. I was blessed with great managers that worked in operations, so there are zero complaints in that department. Unfortunately, there are office politics within the corporate office (based in Ohio) which has a Recruiting Director that is, for lack of a better term, very power hungry and wants control of all recruiters within the company, regardless of what department or org chart. If an operations recruiter (one that has to travel frequently to satellite sites) needs marketing support - such as placards, signs, online advertising, etc announcing a job fair - ALL contact info is to go to the corporate recruiting group, which means that the field recruiter will receive zero credit which means said recruiter will not meet required metrics. Outside of the HR Director, there is ZERO HR support for issues outside of benefits questions, and even that is on a limited basis. If one develops a serious illness, be prepared for zero support, as you will be responsible for initiating any claims to the third party STD/LTD company. If said serious illness requires a job change, ie: Remote work for a position you are well qualified for... well, that is not allowed. Overall, I give it 3 stars.

Bad Management and Leadership

The management is horrible, unorganized, and chaotic. Most of the work is overweight and OTR which will damage your truck. The rates are extremely low.The company shows favoritism to company drivers and not Owner Ops. So do not expect to get much local work. The dispatchers do not answer the phone and are not knowledgeable of the ports.Worst experience driving for a company.

Pros

Weekly pay

Cons

Low rates, bad management, most work is extremely overweight freight.

Growth and Opportunity

Great leadership and great teammates. Continuously changing environment never makes for a dull moment. The ones who succeed at Forward Air have grit, confidence, determination, and empathy. Seeing improvements in our supporting departments is a plus, but still needs work. As long as you follow the processes and know how to deal with people, the job is easy.

Pros

Make your own schedule

Cons

growing too fast and need more talent than ever before

Complicated Job (Airport P&D) Pay is not enough to live on.

I have many years with FAF. I have done everything you can do as a driver. Like so many other companies, Management no longer listen. Pay is below average and they will pay you as little as they can get away with. They tried to be the next FedEx and failed. Now they are in limbo. It might be ok for you if you are retired (don't need a livable wage) and know air freight paperwork. It's terrible for a new driver because there is NO training. If you suck as a driver coming in, you will suck when you leave. There is also absolutely no growth potential.

Avoid Final Mile like the plague

The company is pushing Final Mile delivery very hard but is unfeeling to pay their contractors alivable wage or allow for a work life balance. Most deliver drivers would work 5am to 5pm or later for max $200/day 6 days a week
