The hours are terrible and there is no getting around it. You are on call and it constantly changes. They say it is all about time management, but it isn't!! You can manage your time all you want but if your client doesn't want to meet with you must meet your billable, if your client has an episode you need to be with them, if any emergency happens youre STCUK!!
You make your own schedule as a case manager, and that sounds great, but they tell you that you have 26 hours a week spent with your clients, sounds great, but when you have people that don't want to meet with you or whatever the case is you have to find ways to make it up. Very stressful. I never get home before 8, I never see my kid.
It is an hourly job, you are expected to not work over 40 hours - however, it is impossible to meet demands in the 40 hr work week, so many employees either go into overtime, work off the clock, or leave without completing their work - all of which are grounds for discipline.
