Middlesex County Deputy Sheriff; Detective (Former Employee) – Framingham MA – April 21, 2017
From 1983 to 1997 I was employed here as a campus police officer. Toward the last few years I was given the title of detective. I was a graduate of the Massachusetts State Police Academy 10 August 1984. Typical day is not possible as there is no typical day for a police officer. There are busy days and days with mundane or no vcalls at all like in the summer when the college has no students. The workplace culture on the second shift where I was senior was quite close and productive. Hardest part of the job was not only the hour and a quarter drive time one way to the job, but lack of professional respect from the administration and other civilian departments. We of course were State Police officers with restricted jurisdictions. Enjoyable part of the job was developmet of my investigative skills and leadership skills.
Pride in a job well done as a team
Never getting the respect deserved for our work as a team
