Make sure your staff are trained to deal with acute situations. As an ER patient, and an RN, BSN, I found the sub-par level of training and lack of professionalism by the ER staff to be appalling. I refer to RN's and Nurse Practitioners. Complete lack of training for the situation presented. This is why I no longer work at Freeman; I worried about my license working with such poorly trained co-workers, and being forced by my manager to perform duties I felt were not safe. In school we nurses are taught to advocate for the patient; as a Freeman nurse this is impossible, leading to unsafe situations. Additionally, the hospital is FILTHY.
