Dishonest
Plant Management (Current Employee) –  United StatesSeptember 8, 2018
HQ leadership will not communicate honestly what the plans are for the site. They keep onsite Management in the dark. They do not value people that put company before personal needs. They are also not supportive when the time comes to hire on temps.
Pros
Local co-workers
Cons
Everything else.

New/small company with potential to grow
Inventory Control Specialist (Former Employee) –  Riverside, CAAugust 9, 2018
I worked at FreshRealm at their Riverside location as a member of their salaried team in 2017. The company is small but growing, management team’s overall collaboration was lacking. Expect to work lots of hours when you’re on salary. Back in 2017 their systems wasn’t fully developed. They were using google docs and a cheap MRP system that is not even integrated. Their site in Riverside is a leased space and it’s small. Your workspace will be in a trailer adjacent to the site. If you’re a salaried member expect to work long hours and travel to their other locations for training or relocation. They do not practice accountability and never follows the SOP. Benefits were decent back then, they have no 401k but pto is unlimited as long it doesn’t interfere with business needs. Also I thought the salary is competitive, they pay well for salaried members. Goodluck!
Pros
Unlimited pto, salary, travel, discount
Cons
Culture, management, benefits, hours

Supply Team Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Ventura, CAAugust 7, 2018
This company is not for the light-hearted. They have a cliquish type culture and do not cultivate talent. Do not get comfortable here.

They promise a lot in the beginning but do not deliver.

The teams need to take a long look in the mirror.

Poor leadership and bad management.
Manager (Former Employee) –  CaliforniaJuly 15, 2018
This is not a great place to work if you want a supportive and team oriented work place. Poor leadership and bad management permeate Freshrealm. There are unrealistic expectations and lack of communication throughout.

Chaos does not equal Dynamism
Marketing (Former Employee) –  CaliforniaJune 25, 2018
A challenging work environment with a high turnover, an introverted CEO, with planning as an afterthought. Stressful environment. Non-existent communication in a very small organization.
Pros
Snacks, nice people, beautiful location
Cons
No equity options. Poor, non-existent internal communication.

Very bad management with some good people
Engineer (Former Employee) –  Ventura, CAMay 1, 2018
4+ year old "start-up" with many good people working harder than they need to because they don't know any better. Upper management squanders their talents with lack of planning, ever changing goals and unreasonable expectations. Mostly reactive operations with little to no proactive planning or desire to understand issues. No interest in reality checks or taking input from experienced employees if it conflicts with upper managements 'vision'.

Corporate office living in a bubble and are out of touch with field operations actual requirements or issues. Corporate structure lacking basic policies and functional groups and must push those tasks to individual contributors wasting time and money. Using very clumsy google docs for accounting and quality documentation such as there is. Would rather re-invent the wheel at great expense than invest in proven technologies. Corporate nepotism abounds with friends hiring/protecting friends.

No difinitive communication of goals, no clear operational structure, no appearant desire to build infrastructure. Drink the Kool-aide and you'll do fine.
Pros
free snacks?
Cons
Inexperienced management

Great company to work for. Lots of growth for this company. Unlimited paid time off. Only frustration I had was the lack of communication and the last minute warning.

Casual work place environment similar to a speakeasy
IT Support Specialist (Former Employee) –  Ventura, CAFebruary 26, 2018
Typical day included:
*computer setups for new hires
*Helpdesk support for HQ and remote loctaions
* IT Purchasing for All location
* Travel (sometimes) to New plants to setup Computer Infrastructure
What i Learned:
*This was a Startup company still in its infancy, So budgeting for systems was key, reusing older hardware and making it useful due to lack of funding. How to adapt to unreasonable deadlines, working with a constantly changing environment.
Management:
My manager was probably the best i have ever served under. That being said, upper management was lacking common sense. Thats why they had to restructure the entire company after 1 year.
Workplace Culture:
Very progressive, very low key, casual, open, friendly.
Hardest Part Of the Job:
Watching management make poor decisions even after listening to the expert advice coming from the ground up.
Most enjoyable part of the Job:
Knowing that all of my piers respected and acknowledged my skills and felt reassured that i knew how to fix their issues.
Pros
Wednesday Walks to the Ventura Pier
Cons
Very small office space, crowded

Not Competitive At All
Nothing (Former Employee) –  Ventura, CADecember 14, 2017
If you are looking for a great culture place, this is probably not the place. The people make this company great; however, many higher management will not hear your opinion at all.

It's a unprofessional unorganized group and everyday you never know what hours you have to work.
Order Picker and Packer, (Current Employee) –  Swedesboro, NJSeptember 22, 2017
Never know when they will lay you off. They have no benefits, sick days, insurance. Everyday you have to guess what your hours will be it could be from 2 to 15 hours depending on what mistake you have to correct through out the day.
