STOP working the millwrights to the point of total exhaustion. Stop unnecessary shift swap just for preventative maintenance. Due to EXCESSIVE work hours, provide actual educational training ( on site ) to further their knowledge , example ; electrical grounding both cpu’s & motors, etc, etc.
They are not slowing down! It's full steam ahead for GAF! Contractor choice company, with new products continuing to be launched! Bright future in the building/Construction Industry! Stock is stable and I'm getting in on the money train!!
Poor Decisions made by engineers and management to modify machines with out listening to input from the millwrights and E & I techs as well as the machine operators.
Engineers and management follow the data with out looking at what caused that downtime data. The root cause for the data. Their knee jerk decisions cause a lot of high stress and flaring tempers.
What's the yearly schedule? How serious is the policy when being in or around a hostile environment?
What is the vacation policy like at GAF? How many vacation days do you get per year?
Hourly in this plant is 0 vacation time until you have a year of service (per union contract). Salaried is 3 weeks paid vacation.
On average you will not see 40hrs per week for a very long time. Expect the senior guys to screw you over every week and make you work so they don't have to. The money is nice but absolutely no life whatsoever outside of work, you dont have time for it.
I felt great about going to work. I only had one problem with them and it cost me my job. Inexperienced people who don't check voice mail messages and claim I was a no call no show.
