As a contractor you are easily replaceable
Safety Representative (Former Employee) - Remote - February 23, 2021
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedA typical work day is just constant rating. At Gaggle, you are always on the companies time so to speak. You work when work is available but when they over hire, good luck to you. Management doesn't care about you and you are just a 10/hr worker to them. It is a relatively easy job but you are replaceable.
Pros
Work when you want, easy job
Cons
No benefits, replaceable., management doesn't care about you

working at gaggle was okay, they don't offer much support but the flexibility in the job is great. Able to work from pretty much anywhere as long as you're focused.

Just Okay

Gaggle has a great work/life balance, but everyone there is disposable to them. They began hiring a ton more of independent contractors which made getting hours in a bit difficult.

Not worth it
Safety Representative (Former Employee) - Remote - October 12, 2018
The pay- They pay you 10$ an hour. UpWork takes a percentage of that. (20% to start) You have no choice because Gaggle uses UpWork to document your time logged in and pay you. Also, since you are an independent contractor you will need to file a 1099 at tax season and pay an additional 15% on everything you earned. So in the end, after all the fees and taxes you are making about 7.50$ an hour which is LESS than minimum wage.
The work- The basic lowest level representative (which you will start at) only has access to review documents. It's a simple as reading a sentence and determining if it is urgent or harmful content. If you put in the hours and prove a near 100% accuracy rate then you will be given additional responsibilities. (Such as the ability to review images, messages, emails and videos.) Your hard work and time gets rewarded with more responsibility but the pay stays the SAME. There is no room to grow. Even if you do a fantastic job, you will not get promoted or an increase in pay.
The management- Shockingly young, but responsive and quick to answer questions and help resolve issues. Unlike some Level "2" representatives who have felt the need to send rude private messages pointing out a mistake you made.
The hours- They have a system in place where you can ONLY work if the que is "green" and if it's "red" then you cannot log in to work. You have no idea when it will be green, you cannot set up notifications to alert you when it is green. You literally have to either sit at the computer for hours to wait for the light to change or continuously log in and -
Pros
Easy job. Work from home.
Cons
Will not get any hours. Pay is low. Will be fired without warning.

Good company idea but...
Safety Representative (Former Employee) - Tacoma, WA - April 6, 2018
First off, they say the pay is $10/hr... This is NOT true. You have to sign up with some 3rd party vendor who takes a percentage of your pay which brings your hourly rate down to $8 something. Secondly, you sign up with this 3rd party vendor to get paid and this is the only way they will pay you. I love the idea behind Gaggle and how they’re trying to keep kids safe, but how they handle contract employees and treat them seems shady and feels like a scam.
Pros
Work from home
Cons
Pay, contract employee, no benefits
