RV Technician (Current Employee) - Thornburg, VA - July 16, 2022
Could be a great job but not enough quality work and expected to perform free labor often. Nobody stays long as it is so unorganized. The work is decent when it is there

Meeting new people was a benfeit
RV Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Wichita, KS - March 21, 2022
But that was about it. All long hours, to make okay to decent money. If you have a family and want to see them, stay away. Management are all in it for themselves and take advantage of customers
Pros
Sometimes they provide lunch on Saturday
Cons
No home life. Its all about grinding

Not a bad starter
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Fredericksburg, VA - March 11, 2022
It’s a good start to getting into retail, teaches you about sales. Downfall is they don’t seem to want to give employees raises because of the commission.

It was a retail experience so not a career.
Customer Service/ Sales Representative (Former Employee) - Niles, OH - December 7, 2021
It was a retail experience so not a career. Long hours during the holidays but little to no hours after that. They did have an excellent employee purchase program though.
Pros
Employee purchase program.
Cons
Retail so a lot of hours during the holidays.

Good part time job
Fishing Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Spring, TX - August 28, 2021
If you are looking for 20-25 hours a week this might be a good choice for you. They do not follow their own stocking plan which makes it very disorganized all around.
Pros
40% discount, average pay
Cons
Not enough hours, disorganized, no stable management

Fun place to work
Customer Service (Former Employee) - Rothschild, WI - August 11, 2021
Alot of. Workers are treated greatly and the pay is pretty good over all. You get the hours you want and they are verry flexible and willing to work with people.

It's decent if you're starting out.
Specialist (Current Employee) - Lebanon, IN - June 25, 2021
I would recommend working here if it's your first job to get your feet wet in the working world, but I wouldn't want to retire from this place. It's just not worth the prolonged wear and tear in your body.
Pros
Nice coworkers
Cons
Benefits could be more affordable, Consistent overtime with no end in sight, Issues don't get taken into consideration, No pay incentives

Disorganized and disrespectful
Parts Specialist (Former Employee) - Ridgeland SC - May 23, 2021
I helped open the Ridgeland store and it was extremely disorganized. I had so much trouble getting paid that I had to call corporate. The best way to run off good employees is to not pay them on time.

Fun workplace.
Manager (Current Employee) - United States of America - April 30, 2021
Experiences vary by location. Management and your coworkers will make or break you. Lots of responsibilities for extremely low pay. Education and experience do not matter. Pay scales are set and will not be deviated from. Cut all of our pay during the middle of the pandemic while we were extremely profitable.
Pros
Great discounts.
Cons
Low pay, lots of responsibility.

Disorganized
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee) - Huber Heights, OH - March 28, 2021
Disorganized mess, and poor communication. The store manager at this particular store when he does decide to do anything is uncooperative and unappreciative.
Cons
Almost no benefits

Bad place to be employed
Service General Manager (Former Employee) - Wheat Ridge, CO - December 4, 2020
Only way you can work here and make a living is by stroking the managements ego also the lack of a sufficient work load on a flat rate salary is not good for the moral of the shop this is camping world in a different suit and they only want the cheapest employees and do not consider what Impact.
Pros
Was close to my house
Cons
Lack of fare compensation health care package sucks management insults employees

Flat-Rate service techs taken advantage of
Service Technician (Former Employee) - Hermantown, MN - November 30, 2020
Flat-Rate service techs are required to fix campers whether warranty work is approved or not, and you don't get paid for it. 40 hr work week and they'll pay out 19 hours. If you question it, you're the bad guy. The entire service department is completely dependent on service techs (e.g. parts ordering, labor estimates, retail part sales). They rely on techs for knowledge in all these areas but do not compensate for said skills/knowledge. Work is fun, but only if you get paid for it.
Pros
Work varys from day to day.
Cons
Everything else

Great place to work
BDC Administrator (Former Employee) - Oklahoma City, OK - October 15, 2020
I loved working at Gander RV. They are very flexible with schedules and family oriented. There are not really any good benefits besides time off and some paid Holidays. Overall it was a pleasure working there.
Pros
Work and life balance
Cons
expensive healthcare
