In 1969, Don and Doris Fisher opened the first Gap store on Ocean Avenue in San Francisco. They wanted to make it easier to find a great pair of jeans, and they did. Their denim and records store was a hit, and today we’re the world’s most iconic American brand.

We’re represented in more than 1400 stores in over 40 countries, and online. Our unique aesthetic is optimistic cool, elevated American style. We believe in staying true to our heritage while creating what’s next.

Don and Doris Fisher always wanted to “do more than sell clothes,” and today we’re leaders in employee volunteering and social impact. If you’re full of ideas, if you want to work with phenomenal people, and if you think we should leave the world better than we found it, we’d love to meet you!

I enjoy working at Gap because of the friendly working environment. Everyone is nice and easy to get long with and the job is pretty relaxed. The only downside is how pushy management is for cashiers to open credit cards. They also judge your performance based on how many credit cards you open as well as rewards. I do not think that is fair and performance should be judged by how you help and interact with customers.

They do not train their employees to advance they will hire new people and give them positions above you even if you have been there loyalty for many years. They do not give raises to people will come in and get paid more than the people that have already been working there.

Not a productive or positive work experience. Toxic work environment. The break schedules are not long enough. Communication is severely lacking. Training program is not good.

It was fun working here. The worst part is during the holidays, you’re expected to work long hours listening to the same music over and over while dealing with cranky customers. The rest of the year is fine. You’re pressured to sell their credit cards though and meet weekly/monthly sales goals

Could always ask for help if needed and was very flexible with the schedule and even helped me when I needed to switch to a different store. Everyone was very nice.
