The firm Doesn’t micromanage everything you do. Depending on what office you work there is good camaraderie. I love my team of coworkers. They allow you flexibility just as long as you are productive.

The daily atmosphere working in the Perth Amboy, NJ office at GGL is one of comradery. The attorneys and staff are dedicated to reaching one common goal: assisting client to the best of our abilities. At GGL, I was afforded the opportunity to explore and broaden the boundaries of my own experience and creativity which for me, resulted in feeling accomplished at the end of every day. Management, as with any firm, has its set of challenges, however, I will give praise where praise is due. William Garces is an extraordinary individual who values each and every employee. There could be no better choice for H.R. other than Robert who has genuine concern and empathy and makes himself accessible even after hours. The work-life balance is incomparable. Management literally goes out of their way to accommodate your hours when life's unexpected twists and turns finds your back up against the wall. This is the motto I was told when I started here, "You are all adults. If you need to leave early, ok. If you need to come in late, ok. You know what you have to do, you know the hours you need to work." To say that I appreciate the partners in this regard would be the biggest understatement I could every make. The hardest part of job as a paralegal in the firm, I would say, is keeping yourself ahead of the workflow. It is very consuming and you will never be searching for something else to do. The most enjoyable part of the job is winning of course, but aside from that, it is the praise you get from appreciative attorneys for a job well done. Be prepared to work. This is not a job for a lazy individual. Be prepared to dedicate yourself both to your assigned files and more importantly, to the clients and to roll up your sleeves and work hard, in a fast-paced, family-oriented environment.

No supervision over work. The people that are supposed to answer your questions are usually clueless. The people in management treat the staff horribly. The only good thing about this place is the PTO hours. People will tell you everything is great then go behind your back and crucify you. HR is useless as well. There is no job security. If you are not liked, they will find a reason to fire you. They will post a 55k salary and you will not see it. NO RAISES.

GGL was the first law firm I worked for; I started with very little knowledge in the field, but in the less than 2 years that I have worked here, I have learned a lot, and that knowledge is something that I will cherish and take with me. School does not teach you what experience does, and I am very thankful for the opportunity that I was given without having any experience. For most part, everyone is really nice. Of course, when a company has over 200 employees, there is always a hand full of people with a bad attitude, but it has never affected me. When it comes to pay, it ranges from $17-$20 an hour, which I believe it to be pretty fair for this position. They also offer PTO, paid holidays, health benefits and 401k.

You work 9 hours per day and get paid hourly. You must sign out for breaks, lunch, etc without pay. You never get a raise!! The get rid of you just before you are fully invested in 401K.
