Solid work
Detail Leader (Current Employee) - Herndon, VA - September 4, 2019
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThe work is what you make of it, pay a decent for the industry. Most of the time you will be in a react room or training. This is not a job for someone that needs to be challenged daily.

Good branch, beware of the company
Armed Driver/Messenger (Current Employee) - De Pere, WI - June 9, 2023
It's a decent place to work, but corporate doesn't seem to care AT ALL, about its employees. The trucks are in extremely rough condition, and several don't have air conditioning or are constantly having problems. Being that the trucks windows don't roll down for specific reasons. Not having AC is a very large problem. Your basically the dog trapped in the car while the family is in the store. Except its all day even while the truck is on the move. Steps are being taken to improve that but it is a slow process. You dont have lunch breaks in the traditional sense, you eat as you go along your day. The pay does not feel adequate at all. It is decent but often feels like we should be making more. The honest to God savior of the place is the staff, the pto, and the weekends off. Alot of this is changing, again it's just really slow.
Pros
Excess of hours, solid job security, good staff and management at this branch specifically, decent wage, weekends off, good pto
Cons
No breaks in the traditional sense, very poor condition vehicles, little to no advancement or pay increase.

If they had better communication the job would be better
Armed Security Officer (Former Employee) - Greensboro north carolina - June 6, 2023
They don't have enough people to do the job, one person only should not be by themselves, with the amount of money on the truck. Not to mention the trucks have a lot of issues. Meaning the doors will fly open when driving. Not safe at all. Which is why I quit
Pros
Paid lunch

Horrible
Security Officer (Former Employee) - Salt Lake City, UT - June 5, 2023
Awful job would not work here for any amount of money. Training was nonexistent (not good especially at the high security site I was assigned to) . Supervisors speaking to you as if you were a child. Very unprofessional. Did not care about site just wanted someone to fill a seat. Would not recommend this company to anyone here in SLC.
Pros
I got paid
Cons
Badly managed site, no teamwork, horrible supervisor

Decent until
Post Commander/ armed guard (Former Employee) - Los Angeles, CA - June 2, 2023
Work was great OT was consistent. My supervisor was fired and it’s almost as if they forgot about me. Got offered an armed post despite having a post commander post miles from home with decent pay. Took the offer to advance which only lasted 2 weeks. Was left without work and unable to return to original post. (Was there for 2 years befofe the chaos)

Horrible place to work
Armed Guard/Driver (Former Employee) - Madison, WI - June 1, 2023
Avoid this place at all costs, they don’t care about your well being just getting the routes done. Trucks break down all the time, AC doesn’t work. Trucks are rusting away, management and higher ups don’t do anything about it. Not to mention co workers seem to hate each other. The pay is horrible for the job you’re doing, there’s other jobs paying way better. Don’t jeopardize your life for this company and type of job.
Pros
Driving to different cities
Cons
Equipment/Trucks, Work/Life balance, Pay for the job you’re doing, management and higher ups don’t do their jobs or care about your well-being, Co workers are not friendly

Jobs at GardaWorld
It's what you make of it
Security (Current Employee) - Islandia, NY - June 1, 2023
Do your job and you will advance. Show up 15 minutes early to your job sites consistently and you will eventually be rewarded by overtime, better sites and advancement opportunities. You get what you put into this career.

Horrible work environment
Armed Driver/Messenger (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - May 28, 2023
They hired a bunch of new people and barely had work for them to do if they didn't have anything they would send you home because they are losing customers

Vault Employee/Armored Car Driver/Administrative Assistant (Current Employee) - Rockford, IL - May 24, 2023
Good and bad. Work is steady but we are always understaffed. Pay is way too low for what we do. Management is out of touch. Extremely long hours and minimal pay for very hard and dangerous work.
Pros
Consistent work, no worry about layoffs
Cons
Long hours, too low pay, sucks your soul

Coworkers were fun to work with
6-month employment SF Bay Area. Horrible benefits No paid vacation No PTO There was an extremely low retention rate at my site, over a dozen supervisors quit along with dozens and dozens of guards during a 6-month period all due to how our manager treated our employees .
Pros
Lots of overtime
Cons
Lots of overtime because cant retain employees

Interview process
Na (Former Employee) - Savannah, GA - May 24, 2023
I was scheduled for an interview at 9am, and once I arrived I realized it was a first come first serve deal. I arrived at 9am for my interview and waited almost an hour to be interviewed. I decided to leave, because the interviewer was still on the same candidate for almost an hour. I was prompt and on time to the interview and my time was not respected. It may be a great place to work. But it’s many other opportunities out here. No one wants their time wasted.

Chill job, wack management
Security Guard (Current Employee) - Leavenworth, KS - May 22, 2023
Pays alright considering all you have to do is show up but the company doesn't know what it's doing at any given moment. Constantly receiving mixed messages on pay, hours, job postings, and recently had my hours cut without much recourse or explanation as to why (it turned out to be something about them not wanting to pay overtime so they are hiring someone to cover 8 hours a week of overtime they don't want to pay.)

Not a bad place to work if you don't mind lack of work/life balance.
Vault Lead Custodian (Former Employee) - Livonia, MI - May 22, 2023
Overall a decent place to work. Management tends to recognize potential and gives more opportunities to those that put in the work. Late hours that are not determined. Start of shift is 4pm and we would work up to 2am-7am depending on the day of week. Chill and quiet overnight shift but the coworkers were exhausting. Some people want to max overtime so they drag their feet because you don't leave til everything is done. Overall a good job, wouldn't have left if it wasn't my peers.
Pros
Occasional free lunch, banking overtime, good managment, nice people.
Cons
Hours are not set.
