Great place to work
Claims Representative (Current Employee) - Getzville, NY - December 31, 2019
Featured review
GEICO selected this as a representative reviewBest management I've ever had and everyone is there to help each other succeed! There are so many opportunities to move up and so many people to help you achieve your goals. It can be challenging but it keeps the job interesting!

Group think, ever changing goals, you are a cog
Insurance Producer/Agent (Current Employee) - Fredericksburg, VA - June 6, 2023
Pay is good, recruiters sell how amazing it is but after ten plus years I can tell you its all a thin veneer of chaos and confusion and non working systems. Management makes changes with no regard for the person carrying out the task making them needlessly difficult due to a lack of understanding of the role and hyper focus on the bottom line. If offered a job, take it get your training and run after 1 year. Contrary to what they say there is never a worse time to come to GEICO. Now is always the best time to leave after the industry leading training. the culture is toxic, gaslighting, and harmful long term.

Overworked, does not care about employees
Liability Claims Adjuster (Former Employee) - Marlton, NJ - June 6, 2023
I was at Geico for 3-4 years. Started at PIP at worked up to TCR2. It was a great place to work originally but changes in management and constant changes in metric, along with overworking employees burnt out so many people and made it miserable. Was out on bereavement for a few days for an immediate family member, and received no coverage for any of my work. Then was given bad ratings and placed on a coaching plan due to my diary being overdue (due to trying to catch up from the bereavement). Had to take time off for mental health due to this and left when I could.

Micro managing culture
Claims Adjuster (Former Employee) - Dallas, TX - June 5, 2023
No flexibility in schedule. Micromanaging culture. They also stopped doing profit sharing as a benefit. Pay is low compared to most competitors. Also they are not wfh friendly

Company is very misleading
Licensed Insurance Producer (Current Employee) - Tucson, AZ - June 2, 2023
Geico pulls you in by offering a solid hourly wage, really good benefits, and with a lot of promises of advancement and how they treat there employees and support them but most of it is a smoke screen. The managers and directors are poor and change alot, some supervisors are really good. The main problem is they make changes to the required stats all the time and makes changes that hamper there employees instead of help them. Out of 3 major stats only 1 is in your control fully and they refuse to change even though they ask for feedback all the time.
Pros
Solid pay and really good benefits
Cons
Bad managers, bad upper management, constant changes and poor employee care

You won’t go hungry at work but you will go crazy
Service (Former Employee) - Doesn’t matter - June 1, 2023
As a floor agent you are expected to get 4600 calls in 6 months from your promotion… that number factors in being out sick or using vacation time…if you don’t make that number, you’ll be let go for performance. That works out to just shy of 38-40 calls a day…A DAY. If you take a sick day…BOOM. You’re already behind. And overtime? Forget it. Hardly EVER available. And get used to being treated like garbage by policyholders. It’s not worth it. Geico increases its rates for no reason and hides behind “inflation” as the excuse. Do yourself a favor, as someone looking for a job OR someone looking for insurance. Stay away
Pros
None that outshines the cons
Cons
Too many to list, see paragraph above

Few reasons to stay
Auto Service Representative (Former Employee) - Fredericksburg, VA - June 1, 2023
The money's good. Co-workers are very nice. That's all the good, that's it. Unless you fall in lock step with the 'rah! rah! yay Geico' mentality, you won't last. Don't ever question superiors no matter how valid or concerning your question is. Understand that you are NOT there to help customers, you're there for Geico and no one else, not even yourself. Terrible morale.

Great benefits
Claims Adjuster (Current Employee) - Virginia Beach, VA - May 30, 2023
The company benefits are great, you will enjoy the insurance. They got rid of profit sharing in 2023 and that is what caused a lot of employee turnover. The training is really good, we'll always feel prepared for your job.

Not bad but not the 100% best either
Service Agent (Current Employee) - Macon, GA - May 30, 2023
Just be prepared that everything said at the recruitment process isn’t 100% facts, and you are just a number… once you have that in your head then working for this company won’t be so Annoying because your expectations won’t be so high therefore no disappointments

Great place to work!
Sales Manager (Current Employee) - Raynham, MA - May 30, 2023
Great job, the pay is good, benefits are OK, and the atmosphere is very upbeat and positive. Sales is a tough career, but GEICO surely sets you up to win here.

Stable place to work
Insurance Counselor (Former Employee) - Virginia Beach, VA - May 30, 2023
Good first job after college and good opportunities to move around to other departments. The training department does an excellent job kudos! Salaries were lower than I anticipated though.

Great pay, super strict rules
Claims Adjuster (Current Employee) - Fredericksburg, VA - May 26, 2023
They make it impossible for you to call out. If you don’t have the sick time you can’t call out and if you do call out without sick time you get written up potentially leading to termination

Sighs
Claims Adjuster (Current Employee) - New York, NY - May 25, 2023
Work load is overwhelming. The pay is fair. There are alot of broken promises and constant changes. The goals are unattainable at times. Management can be helpful.

Mentally makes you sick!
Adjuster (Former Employee) - Lakeland, FL - May 25, 2023
I would rather scan products as a cashier at my local Target or Publix before I ever work for this company again. The only way to meet their impossible metrics is to work OFF the clock with ZERO pay for it. But you do gain good work experience.

Terrible
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Buffalo, NY - May 25, 2023
This job murdered my mental health. I was moved multiple times with different supervisors and essentially told to deal with it. Don’t ruin your mental health by working here. You’re nothing but a number.

It was okay, high stress
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Virginia Beach, VA - May 25, 2023
Great people, good money, good benefits. But they aren’t so good when you have emergency’s, if you fall below a certain percent, they will fire you. Even if it was for emergency purposes that were explainable.

Good starter job
Auto Damage Adjuster (Former Employee) - Texas - May 24, 2023
Good job for entry level adjuster. They will train you and give you all the tools to succeed. Very Numbers driven and can sometimes seem unrealistic.

People are awesome, the actual job not so much and at time’s impossible
Auto Specialist Rep (Former Employee) - Getzville, NY - May 23, 2023
This is seemingly a great company to work for that is until you are in. Then you will see the opportunity you thought you had is absolutely not what you thought. The expectations are too high and not even possible. It also takes a toll on your health mentally and your peace of mind is genuinely not present.
Pros
Nice colleagues nice atmosphere
Cons
Management expectations are ridiculous and no one speaks up
