Reviews about Pay & Benefits for Customer Service Representative in GEICO

Interesting Place Lol

The compensation at GEICO for an individual with no degree and minimal experience is adequate to start and there are avenues to grow that for sure. The managers I had were amazing. There is a lack of a company vision and sense of direction. There was a random merger of departments, which now saw service representatives going from managing one department to four unique departments with no additional compensation. Employees were laid for not meeting the company vision, however there is no vision with this company or at least one that has been clearly stated and understood by the masses of the workforce. Elevation to management is few and far between. If you would like to be a mentor or trainer, that is a lateral move not a vertical move that comes with additional compensation (makes no sense lol). As a stepping stone job for a year or two, it gets the job done and gives your resume a boost. Otherwise, I do not recommend long term employment. Employee turnover rate is very high.

Pros

Compensation & Benefits, Supportive Managers/Supervisors

Cons

Lack of Direction, High Turnover, Lack of Vertical & Exponential Growth Opportunities

Mentally Stressful. Sucks the life out of you!

Years ago was a great company to work for then everything changed during and after COVID for the worst. Company doesn’t care about their employees or customers anymore. It’s all about numbers. I feel like since the new CEO took over everything went downhill. Company morale is down. Profit Sharing is gone. They are rejecting policies that cancelled and not allowing them to come back. They micromanage. The Supervisors come and go either from stress coming down from the managers, they quit or are forced to retire if they are tenured, or they are demoting back to floor agents. All I can say is I’m glad I left when I did which was over a year ago. I was there for almost 20 years and couldn’t take it anymore. I wouldn’t go back to GEICO if it were the last job on earth. Nope. No way. So if you are looking for stress, migraines, and dreading your workday then this is the company for you. The pay and benefits are great but you will lose what sanity you have left to earn it. If you are looking for a company that cares about their employees, is family oriented, doesn’t micro manage, and doesn’t cause mental breakdowns go somewhere else. You”lol be better off.

It’s ok

You get some crazy people but most people are ok, do get micromanaged to an extent depends on your sup, goals are reachable but annoying because there’s an element of it being out of your hands, pay and benefits are ok
