Wasn’t bad at all

Indeed Featured review

Generac was ok to work for, the customers would call in angry but once you listen to them you get to understand the situation and feel better about helping the customer

Professional & Progressive

Hi caliber HR team, creative and progressive in HR best practices, lots of work opportunities. Culture was fast paced, but growth minded. Team members great to work with but there is some turnover.

Poor communication and conflicting expectations

Poor communication from managers, and job expectations change without warning depending on who you report to. I was hired for data entry, and after 18 months our team was moved without warning or choice to another department. Suddenly what I was hired for became irrelevant. Not a pleasant working environment.

Pros

Friendly co-workers

Cons

FMLA and STD claims are handled by a third party, which complicates the system.

Chaotic chasing of your tail all day long.

What is the best part of working at the company? Some good people there and some fun activities. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The management has realistic expectations of time involved to make deadlines. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Fairly high paced environment with some tight deadlines. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Chasing down information in a very messy folder structure or from people that are overworked.

Good days and bad days

The company as a whole is fine. The people are nice. However, there’s changes to positions constantly and no clear line of responsibility. Definitely has potential but better if you’re in a higher up role. Pay also doesn’t seem worth the job.

Avoid

Constant drama between first and second shift. You'll run out of parts very quickly and sometimes have to wait hours for them. The assembly procedure changes every single day, so no matter what you'll be told someting is wrong. Generac is blaming employees for low production rate, meanwhile they made unrealistic promises to customers and refuse to resolve the warehouse and parts catastrophe. For a 10 hour shift you get two 10 minute breaks and one 20 minute break. It is not worth the pay.

Horrible working environment

This place is awesome!… for your first month. Definitely a short term type job, don’t expect to be there over 6 months. Never had management as bad as here, expect to be mistreated and belittled every day. The leads will definitely pick a couple favorites and treat everyone else horrible. HR is a complete joke, never helped me at all and not much others. They definitely hire quick but also fire quick. If you work in winter expect to endanger your safety by climbing on snow and ice covered metal and looking for a little code of numbers beneath the ice. Will also fire for bogus reasons so be prepared. Seriously guys DO NOT waste your time here.

Dysfunctional

Very unorganized, management by mismanagement. Out of one part or another on a daily basis, so the the lead gets mad at you like it's your fault that material nonsupport hasn't gotten you your parts. They constantly want more and more production and it's hurry hurry hurry get the units out. It's like a revolving door with people quitting or getting fired and new people every week.

Pros

$22.00 an hour starting pay

Cons

everything.expect to work 50-58 hours every week and almost every saturday

Not bad

It wasn't bad. Office was nice and the people there were decent. Engineering labs need a little love and some updates to available equipment. They need more desks.

Lots of potential...Lots of distance to reach it.

Repeated management cycling (turnover/movement) has created job uncertainty in many positions.A surprise decrease in 2nd shift compensation revealed a management perception of labor which has been detrimental.Generac has good goals but needs to discover stable fundamentals (upon which a path to those goals can be charted).

Pros

Fair compensation

Cons

Excessive overtime, conflicting processes/metrics.

Fast paced and overworked

I was lied to about the hours and days I wibe working when I was hired on. I was expected to work mandatory overtime on different days that told in hiring interview. I was even assigned a different position than what I was hired on for. Complete disappointment.

Pros

Good coworkers

Cons

Unorganized and dirty

Very productive place to work and learn different things. I really liked working there.

I was and will always be very diligent and motivated to do whatever needs to be done with hesitation. I was and will always be very helpful, considerate, and take pride in the work that I do.

Pros

The work, the hours, the location and the pay.

Cons

There were no cons to me. I knew the rules and policies, so all I had to do is my job.

Other agents were great and made working better

They do not take the time to properly roll items out, which made it difficult to help customers at time. Training went way to fast for products and lacking for ml.

Pros

Other employee

Cons

Storms season is busy and you don't get a lot of work life balance

Busy and fast paced

Ok place but mandatory overtime on Saturdays is tiresome. Those who schedule the overtime are never there themselves. HR sides heavily with management because white collars stick together right or wrong it seemed to me. Pay is good if you stay long term.

The job provided a paycheck

What is the best part of working at the company? It’s was only a ten minute commute What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Leadership never seemed to know which type of unit we were running next, so we had to scramble for parts. I don’t mind challenging but this was insane. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Environment not good. Culture nonexistent. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Wait in line to park, rush inside to clock in, start to hunt for missing parts
