Horrible Company to work for
Supervisor (Former Employee) –  St. Louis, MOMay 10, 2018
They treat employees like slaves, your work performed is never good enough, the pay rate is very low for the work they expect from you, They sell bedbug rooms just to keep from losing out on any money that comes their way I would never recommend anyone to work for them at all

Lack of diversity at the corporate office, lack of support from the corporate & regional level.
General Manager (Former Employee) –  St. Louis, MOMarch 22, 2018
Poor upper management and terrible support from poorly trained regional management. Regional management was very unprofessional & bullied the hotel staff. This made it impossible to keep hourly employees and then the corporate & regional expectation was that the salaried management should work 7 days a week from 7 am to 11 pm.

Guest Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Munster, INOctober 30, 2017
Hard to move up in company. Advancement doesn't help with experience, it has to do with favoritism! FDC's are ill trained, managers take breaks to go out and smoke pot and work High. Guests have mentioned many a times about the smell of pot. VG always had blood shot eyes after breaks. Homewood Suites Munster turns a blind eye! In one year it has been open we have had 2 General Managers, 3 Director of Operations, 3 Front Desk Managers, 3 Night Managers... Lots of turnover!
Pros
Company discounts, paid time off
Cons
Managers work on drugs

This company is growing by leaps and bounds. They executives take care of their staff with annual outings and staff trips. The hours are not always the best, but if you put the work in, it will not be a problem.

I loved working for this company. General Hotels knows how to run a business and treat their employee's. If they ever opened up a hotel in Virginia I would put in my resume.
