Supportive management promotes relaxed working atmosphere and autonomy of each representative to develop and implement unique strategies and techniques to maximize sales of GE services to owners of business nationally within broad range of industries.Challenges include continuous self-motivation to continue with little or no pause between outbound calls requiring assertiveness and positive communication with gatekeepers and owners.
Pros
Development of selling skills, supportive management
Cons
Promotion unavailable, highest pay positions exclusive to representatives with prior experience as business owners.

Good short term job, but not a career.
BUSINESS ADVISOR (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXApril 18, 2018
This is a grinding job with repetitive duties that ultimately become very boring. It's a controlling environment, micromanagement with a smile. It's very difficult to make real money there and it takes very long before you see real results.
Pros
Lunch a couple of times a month
Cons
Too controlling of your time, not enough PTO, need a doctor's note when you get sick.

Working here is very competitive, it can be a high pressure position working in the call center, the pay is production based compensation. The management staff is caring and helpful.
Pros

Micro management and a salary at poverty line in Austin
Senior Business Advisor (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXMarch 29, 2018
Micro management DOES NOT WORK! They try to manage every second and every minute of your day. Even when you are dealing with family issues. They then have the audacity to DEMAND a “note” from the doctor, or from where ever you’re going to “prove” that you were actually there.

None

Good company to work for
Senior Business Advisor (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXDecember 2, 2017
I really like the culture and the management but there is almost zero upward mobility. Upper management cares about it's people but places way to much emphasis on metrics that aren't relevant or important.
Pros
free lunch, lots of spiffs, lots of paid time off
Cons
the office culture is very complacent

Very difficult to earn a substantial wage.
Senior Business Advisor (Former Employee) –  Fort Lauderdale, FLNovember 8, 2017
Although there is a $33,000 base salary, Generational Equity promotes that you can make over $100,000 a year. Unfortunately, only 1 in 10 will ever come close to that amount.

Lead generation
Senior Business Advisor (Current Employee) –  Dallas, TXSeptember 5, 2017
Typical day would be on the phone calling business owners. Its more lead generation for the managing directors. I learned a lot about business valuation and Merger & Acquisition. Management is helpful. Corporate culture is okay. Career advancement is minimal to none. More of leads generation than anything. Hardest part is leads are generated through a list provided which has been beaten a lot.

Great Place to Work
Senior Consultant (Former Employee) –  Sunrise, FLJune 8, 2017
The Florida office was a great place to work. The staff is very supportive and even more so the Sales Manager is fantastic. One of the best work cultures I have been a part of. The company spares no expense. A day at work consists of a lot of phone calls and time on the phone. Hardest part of the job is reaching people. Most enjoyable part of the job is the money.

Money, People

The company is great. They do what is ethical for our clients benefit. The only issue I have is absolutely no upward mobility. I like to grow to the next level. I do not see myself in that same position for the rest of life. I need challenges with the opportunity to advance. If not for that one issue I would not leave. I am a top producer.
Pros
Very ethical business practices
Cons
No room for promotions

Sr. Business Development Manager (Current Employee) –  Dallas, TXJune 23, 2015
Responsible for screening, interviewing, hiring and managing a team of senior business advisors. The typical work day for me involves direct, one-on-one interaction and management of advisors in a call center environment whose primary tasks include cold calling and prospecting via a collective database, to small/mid-size companies across the U.S.

The hardest part of the job is finding qualified "sales" pro's with the acumen, dedication and determination to successfully pre-screen and qualify companies that meet our criteria and that handle adversity while flourishing in a challenging yet rewarding job.
Pros
Great work environment, great management team

Hardest job I have ever had. Not for the weak or meek!
Senior Business Advisor, Mergers and Acquisitions (Current Employee) –  Dallas, TXApril 14, 2013
Talk time and number of out-dials evaluated daily. Turnover is probably over 500/600%, most people last less than a month. 5% of the sales reps make 95% of the sales.
Pros
pay for performance compensation plan
Cons
very few employees are successful.
