No team players .. no respect .. no thank you for being over worked short staffed not enough supplies company profits or interest on the billions they receive go to buying supplies or wage increases .. management has nasty attitudes and will throw you under the bus to save themselves .. its every man for themselves . Corporate staff needs to have offices in their facilities to witness first hand the high school behaviors going on director of nursing and administrators need be fired all of them asap .. at will law dont apply to them ..head bosses at head quarters turns a blind eye for the sake of profits .
At the linden grove puyallup wa location - if you a heart beat....actually they dont care about that. if you can pass the background check you have a job
What would you suggest Genesis HealthCare management do to prevent others from leaving?
I worked for 11 years at Cumberland Village in Lafollette Tn as a Manager. The building is not marketed correctly they offer a dedicated team rolling buffets night time dining, unsupervised smoking for those who qualify, the ability to go outside at will with a garden open to the public a dedicated area outside open to locked unit a restorative staff dedicated to restorative not already overworked CNA on floor. A shower team so if a shower is important you can get one everyday if you like. A wonderful activities program with a dedicated room fully stocked a huge gym for therapy free soda fountain in Internet cafe upgraded towels pillows etc. a hairdresser where all residents get hair done every month free. A team who meet weekly to come up with solutions for your problems where all are heard you can really truly write your own plan of care however they do not fully market this and people assume care is better in Knoxville it definitely is not. No dedicated shower teams you might not get to go outside you may get 1 to 2 showers a week as most expect there CNA on floor to also give showers. If this building could market better knowing there competition in the areas and could pay the CNAs more so that they can stay fully staffed they would blow away the competition. However they struggle to keep aides. They will advance there CNAs to nurses and encourage and help them while the attend school also employing them when they graduate. I left for better health insurance and matched 401k but I can tell you the care at other places does not compare to this building. Genesis should really step up there marketing of this building pay there Aides more than anyone in the area and revamp there benefits for this building and they would have a waiting list to get in. My next projects that I did not get completed were to get blanket warmers and turn shower team into spa teams with 5 star training on facials hair and skincare. I hope they will consider doing this for there residents. Genesis is dedicated to service to bad the star level do to antipsychotic meds and staffing brings them down in this building shocks me that horrid care buildings in the area have same star levels but I know if the team there focuses on this it will improve. Cumberland Village will always be my home it frustrates me to see other buildings do better than them on there stars when the care does not even come close. I hope they will consider these suggestions as it is still in my community and houses many of my neighbors and friends. You spent money on remodel now forget the company marketing plan for this building go out and market with questions for clients to ask on showers restorative and the ability to have choices in food drinks and freedom to be able to keep your dignity and still make many choices and clients will see that others in the area do not stack up to this building. and improve those aide wages promote your continuing education for the aides to become nurses and continue to blossom. Best wishes always since being at other homes I see the huge difference in care and my training that I received by working there. Others don’t understand or are willing to up there game but yet they take your customers daily. Get to work guys! Your truly unique and missing a huge opportunity.
If you were in charge, what would you do to make Genesis HealthCare a better place to work?
Be the best example, be a listener, with caring attitude; good spirit with smile, loving and kind. I don't see that where I work. I treat people the way I wanted to be treated.
