Its Kool if you just want a job asap or you are out of high school and want a job.. Its suuuuper laid back.. Wish they would up their pay tho to at least $14..

Your first week or so they’ll have you walking while everyone else is operating a walkie which I couldn’t understand because if you are hired for the position to pick/pack it should be organized to have someone to train NEW employees on their first day. There is absolutely no opportunity for advancement. They’ll hire someone outside of the company before giving someone in-house the opportunity. During the summer bring lots of water because it get extremely hot. Starting pay is $13 and then you ONLY get $1 after working 740hrs. They expect you to pick a 500+ cases per shift “which isn’t bad” but it’s impossible when you have someone controlling who gets certain orders. It’s a one way street you have to be part of the family to survive. Good luck!

Rules for employees are not consistently enforced. They have their favorites. You are constantly set up for failure there, with every assignment being “priority”. After they move you from an assignment and tell you something else is more important, they come back and ask why the first task didn’t get done. The training leaves a lot to be desired. Gerber clearly doesn’t value in-house talent as they continue to bring managers in from outside of the company; you can apply for a role and get no interview and no feedback as to what you need to work on to be ready for the next level. Performance reviews and raises don’t happen. During record setting years we have lost benefits. We have had numerous directors in charge in a short period of time. It’s a revolving door of leaders at the top. The parent company lacks trust in the people Gerber hires, handcuffing competent supervisors and managers and preventing them from making any progress within the facility. No one that’s any good stays very long once their contracts are up, and many people leave less than a month after their date of hire once they have seen how the company operates. You will not grow here as people tend to operate a level below their job title. Unless you are offered a position that gives you the power to change these things, just stay away.

As with a lot of companies, the business aspect of companies has changed dramatically. It somehow feels like they care more about the business than they do about the people that create the business.

This place is not like some warehouses... they're at a place of "transition" is what management says..., but let the actual people who are performing tasks tell it, it's been transitioning for a couple years now... I don't even know where to start. Training is awful!, not formal at all...Management is horrible you have to verify things they tell you, they don't understand or down right just dont know what their employees tasks are or how to do them and expect things out of them that are alot of them times irrational... long story short... be prepared mentally... oh yea spring and summer its HOT! ... fall and winter is FREEZING!, like I said be prepared ...
