Bad shop culture, find something better.

Toxic work environment and poor upper managment.They pay top dollar if your friends with the Production manager based on the buddy system not performance.They tolerate people that show up only half the week, but give no recognition to the ones that are dependable.They have run off all the decent managers that are good to the employees,And knew what they are doing.Work is unorganized and you spend alot of time waiting around for parts or answers to questions needed to proceed.Leaves you feeling unproductive.

Good company

Good company stable, people care for coworkers and there is room to move up. Office and administration jobs as well as industrial manufacturing workers about 200 employees

It’s productive but not really a fun work environment

GK was ok to work at with some benefits but I got the feeling that their employees welfare was not their primary concern. It was a clean well organized work environment

Great Company To Work For

GK Machine was a wonderful company to work for, full of professionals who are knowledgeable about their job. I learned a lot while there and had circumstances not required me to leave I would have stayed there for many years. Many of the people working for GK have been there for years of not decades, which is a testament to the quality of company that GK is.

Productive and fast paced at times.

GK Machine, Inc has a family-type atmosphere and takes an interest in their employees by providing a comprehensive benefit package. The most enjoyable of the job is the people you meet either as a coworker or a customer. The management is forward-thinking where they are always looking for future opportunities to grow. I would have like to have stayed there, but my family had moved to another location.

Fun place to work except for the management!

I applied for a welding position, however my lack of experience landed me at the press brake where I was transferred to all sorts of areas to fill in for people when production was behind. I never knew what I was gonna be doing the next day, never got a set of tools since my position was never fixed. for the work I did, getting a pay increase was hard. floor manager always seemed to leave early or cancel our meeting due to poor planning, security of the facility is great however it was creepy being watched all night trying to work. this place has a very strong no phone policy and they will definitely catch you if you use your phone. if it wasn't for the poor management I would still be working there as I loved my job and my co workers. I hope things have changed since I have left, as GK was a fun place to work and learn tools of the trade in machine building.

Good work loads, paid holidays to a point, 30min lunch, 2 15min breaks

great place. Management is going down hill

started out great. After a while they started to get in over their head and set ridiculous time lines for brand new jobs, management started to become worse and worse, until they pretty much quit doing their job and the employees had to make up for it, or get in trouble for bosses mistake and the bosses wouldn't take the blame, but instead blame out on others.

Do not bring your entire toolbox, wait until your hire date anniversary.

After you jump through all of the hoops to secure a position at this place. You will find it sorely lacking. The atmosphere is political motivated, The conversations you’ll over hear, in the lunchroom are complete lack of sympathy, respect, and general disregard of the universal human condition of circumstance is astonishing.

Very productive

I would have stayed at GK but I relocated to Washington. A very rewarding job. Loved all my employees. Liked the PTO and benifits. Would definetly recommend.

Good place to work, good people, good advancement , people are okay to work with, other co worker help you in time when you need help. They accept all races and no discrimination

It was fun

A very laid back and relaxed job while being in the office. The owner himself was a very nice guy and my boss was also very nice. I also like my supervisors and the job itself

Not worth it

Horrible benefits. Both upper and lower management don't know how to properly handle their work load. The owner keeps his eye on production but he doesn't seem to keep an eye on his CEO and other management.

Fun and everyone is involved in any event. All concerns and improvement recommendation are taken with seriousness. No one is left out in the big family, and everybody is left out with the project on hand and given all support needed to meet the goal.

Tense atmosphere and very underhanded/backstabbing

If you are a potential employee, please reconsider. Their family & friends have free run to do what they want, but others are treated poorly. For the entire duration of my employment, not one person introduced themselves or made me feel welcome. Very young machinists promoted to evaluating new hires, which is why a skilled, educated, or experienced person is quickly alienated. This is referred to as 'job fear'. There is a reason why people go to school for four (4) years to become Managers & Supervisors. Promoting a person who has little to no education, and allowing them to determine the future of industry proven people, explains why they are in constant need of people. Be cautious. Ask why they maintain a full page ad in Craig's List, and yet have so many unfilled positions available. I know dozens of people who have had bad experiences with them, as I have had. Depressing environment.

Creative new design work with high security and cameras everywhere.

High pressure get it done management. Cut corners and save money any way you can, even if quality has to be compromised.Would not consider employment there again. No 401K matching.

6 x 6 cubical (very small). Always being watched by video camerasin engineering and all over plant.

Great place to work with some internal problems.

This has been a great place to work. I have enjoyed what I have done for GK. I have been able to paint a number of different pieces of equipment. Farming equipment, locomotives, cars, truck's,and many more. The breaks are ten minutes. I like 15 min breaks. Gives me a chance to have a snack. There are cameras through out the whole place. Ferris like your seats being watched. Doesn't bother me. I like it because it keeps the theft down. You can leave your tool box unlocked and still feel safe about it..

Family owned business. They are very understanding with personal life problems..

Fantastic work environment with friendly coworkers and bosses.

GK Machine taught me valuable work and life lessons. I was able to cement my ability in powder coating, learn how to operate a sandblaster, and was trained in how to work in small, confined spaces. My coworkers were great to work with, and we made sure to always be there for each other and create a healthy work environment. I greatly enjoyed powder coating, and prided myself on making sure each and every job was up to quality standards.
