What is the best part of working at the company? Most employees are nice to work with. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Expectations are dependent on which supervisor is working. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Environment is ok, could have better AC. Culture is clicky some days and annoying. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Stressful and crazy with many last minute interruptions.

I loved it there, everyone was so great and I recommend to anyone who is looking for a great job.

I found it a wonderful and friendly place to work and the patient’s revived excellent care and I would most certainly recommend it to anyone who wants to work there. Great ED and wonderful medical surgical department. I was very happy with them.

Practice of corporate medicine

I will not ever work there again without considerable changes, which they have refused to entertain or promise for years and never follow through. At least two identifiable violations of the practice of corporate medicine. Old EHR that endangers patients, management hides billing info from doctors, refuses to update system flow and technology, poor pay, poor staffing, old building that contributes to health conditions.

Management

Poor Management and very disrespectful, expectations are not realistic, my license is more important REGARDLESS of pay. I wouldn't work here for $100,00/hr.

Cons

Risk

Just a stepping stone

Pay is ok and not competitive to outlying facilities. Supplies and equipment are always short. Manager is hardly ever on-site. High turnover rate of staff on the floor. Benefits were terrible.

Pros

Helpful Charge Nurse

Cons

No A/C, owners penny pinch, outdated equipment, old patient beds.

Teamwork was key. Staff was very intuitive. Director knowledgeable.

We have a good team mentality at Glenn. We help each other when needed. Question are always a teaching moment. Staff is energetic and quick to smile and laugh with pt. Whole Body Care is number one there.

Pros

Director knows each nurse and provides the guidance needed to better perform our duties.

Cons

1: Building is old and shows it’s age, 2: Air Conditioning is non existent at times, 3: Plumbing issues arise from time to time as well.

Great as first job but not in the long run

Working there was alright but there was a high employee turnover. In the start of employment you feel supported but the longer you work the support leaves and is more focused on the new hires. You can share concerns that you have with your job but the response that they offer is not the greatest. You will learn many things in the beginning but then you will plateau so it's a decent first job in the healthcare but not as a long term. The patients that come through mainly all of them are long term care. Supplies are hard to come by so they might not have the supplies you need to care for the patients.

Pros

decent pay, 12hr shifts, free parking

Cons

unsupported, favoritism, isolated location

Nice team atmosphere

This is a nice place to work. Most patients are long-term care-ish so if you're interested in critical care this isn't the place to learn. It's an older facility. They don't always have the supplies you need.

Pros

Great co-workers

Cons

Not much to learn

Walk fast

Mis-management at its finest, little to no room for growth. Prefers new grads that haven’t learned to be cautious rather than seasoned nurses that know better than to put people in danger.

Treated well by peers and management. Minimal supervision.

The atmosphere is good and always treated well by others. Management does little things to keep morale up like banana split days. Given lots of autonomy and minimal supervision in the ER. Lovely little community filled with super sweet folks!

Pros

Awesome work environment! Lots of OT available.

Cons

EMR is frightfully beta!

Relax

If you come in on time, care for the patients and are nice to your coworkers, this is the place for you. I am so happy that I was able to get a position here. It's the happiest I have been at a job in a very long time.

Good work environment

It has been a year since I started working in this place. So far, I haven't had any negative experience. It is a small community hospital which makes it easier to get to know people around. The supervisors I work with (Nursing and Laboratory) treat me and other employees with utmost respect and professionalism.

Opportunity to learn

I was hired with no experience, over the last 8 years I have been able to learn and grow with this hospital. My boss has been really good about teaching my coworkers and myself all aspects of our job, not just drawing blood. She has been very flexible and supportive with our schedules when two of us decided to return to school to further our education. You can learn a lot more in a small rural hospital.

Pros

Flexible work schedule

Cons

health benefits (they are getting better)

Saved from Closure

This little hospital has my heart. I have never seen so many dedicated staff that truly care about the patient. Unfortunately, it was headed down the path of many rural hospitals and financially could not sustain itself. We were literally hours away from closure when we were saved by an up and coming company with a vision for rural health care. A new business plan and some unique patient mixes has turned this little jewel into a thriving business. Lots more to come.

Pros

New building on the way, ability to work independently, great team of people to work with.

Cons

1946 Building, 1946 infrastructure

Nice coworkers

While I was there I was only there for about 3 days before they left me alone. They are beyond understaffed. They have you do the job of three people. The only thing I will miss from there is the coworkers.

Pros

Coworkers

Cons

Unorganized

Unhappy workforce, unsafe environment for patients

The new management team is running this place into the ground with unsafe, illegal staffing levels. Too many patients on the floor with too few, untrained nurses. Not following the state mandated staffing levels. Can't count the DON license when he's sitting in his office.

Pros

Free parking, great co-workers

Cons

Too many to list

Great people in a difficult situation

Great People - When I was there the Hospital was undergoing significant ownership dispute, low funding and leadership challenges - This was a perfect example of a collection of amazing individuals working hard every day for the good of the community. I do hope they are able to keep Glenn Medical Center alive!

Pros

Love the people

Cons

Very difficult challenges
