I could work a twelve hour day and no one in my area would even say hello. There is a lot of tension and and negative emotions, you work on teams but everyone on them is working against each other. I would never recommend anyone to work here. The benefits are great but the stress that I brought home to my personal life did not even out in the end.
Training program started well but then came to a complete halt due to another large group of trainees coming in. Expectations were not set and contract was extended one day and ended the next day, literally.
Overall, Global Atlantic is a good place to work, being a smaller company in comparison to the other larger insurance carriers, it makes you feel like you know everyone. Flexible work from home arrangements and competitive pay.
Flexibility, Compensation, Casual Work Environment
Top notch external sales team with highly skilled executive sales manangement. Internal sales team need more attention and management.
Internal employee morale is very negative, employees have been negatively impacted by conversion. Management has tried to improve this, but there needs to be more visibility to senior management. The company was build on an open door policy with strong executive leadership. A lot of these leaders have since departed.
Do not apply for this company if you are looking for a good productive culture where you are able to grow both personally and professionally. If you prefer to half-butt your job and not advance or grow others around you, then you are a perfect fit.
I have learned much and continue to learn in my position. The benefits are exemplary. There are many opportunities to move and grow within the company. Most of the management are great leaders and coaches who really care about their reports. The reasons I would leave would be to move closer to my family and a bad manager who was not a good coach and didn’t help me learn and grow.
One of the nicest perks of this company is the flexible work schedule. As long as you get your 40 hours in each week, the time you are there is not important. If you need to leave early one day, then stay late the next.
The company offers good salary and benefits, but in my current position, senior leadership is lacking in leadership skills. The hierarchy is very vertical, with countless layers of management on top of management, which creates a lot of redundancy in the actual work being done. Managers tend to be into the details of their subordinate's jobs too much.
On the positive side, the company is trying hard to be something great. Financially, the company is solid. Hopefully the personnel issues will work out as the company's growing pains improve.
If you are looking for a company who value you as an employee, then this is not the company for you. The Human Resources department is of no use other than working on managers orders. The company has a very small size and the politics inside is complicated. There's no day without gossiping about the peers by VPs and AVPs. There are few employees who work sincerely on deals and do buy and sell at work which even the top management doesn't question on. Overall this is not a company for anyone who works sincerely.
Stressful, not enough resources - poor advancement opportunities, Dress code changes don't make up for deeper issues. The work at home program is only for certain groups who's managers are less old school.
