Work & Life Balance

Make sure you're a good fit
Everyone wants to work for Goldman Sachs. And it's easy to see why. It's a great company with great benefits and you get to do a lot of substantive work that will go well on a resume. However, with that comes a lot of demands. You will work long hours, occasionally on weekends, and taking vacations is tough cause even though they encourage you to take them, you have a lot of catch-up to do when you get back. Very few people last more than a few years there. So yes, it's a good company, but they just might make demands from your schedule that you may not be totally prepared to give.

The firm has a poor culture, despite taking pride in it. Every department is siloed. No actual instruction ,only information offered. Challenging place to work for unless you like the politics of it.

GS offers a challenging environment. Personal experience with management has been positive - they are invested in my professional growth. Company culture is well-established and makes lasting efforts with the promotion of diversity and inclusion. Overall, my experience has been fruitful and productive.

Nice place to work. Good opportunities for project management, work life balance can be quite poor. Highly competitive culture, great diversity and inclusion

Can be difficult and mundane at times. Often have to work Ling hours at half time for over time. Work can be boring and emphasis is on quantity of tasks finished not quality.
