Career Staff in Operations

They are different! If you want to feel like you are valued, appreciated and part of a family- GFAC is the place to be. Between the operations and training departments- there is so much room for professional and personal growth. Management supports their employees and pushes them to do and be the best they can.

Other EMS places in the area do not even compare to Good Fellowship. From day one the place seemed way more professionally run than most other agencies. The people I was with have a much better attitude about EMS as a whole than other places I have been. I should have come here sooner.

Great environment to learn, lots of volunteer opportunities, easy to obtain continuing education, helped me gain a lot of experience prior to physician assistant school.

I currently volunteer there and can eventually become an official employee once I have completed proper training. Overall, it is a very friendly environment and they give ample opportunity to learn. Very nice facility as well.
EMT-B in West Chester, PA

Their day time staff is paid, but night time staff is all volunteers, most of them from the local college. I did night time. At night, you can work in 6 or 12 hour shifts. While they do not pay you, they had a point system for volunteers that could be redeemed for gift cards and such. Because the volunteer shifts were by first come, first serve sign up, you basically got to pick your schedule. As for advancement, if you did well volunteering, you could move up to paid as openings came available. You could also go to management positions as you learned to meet the requirements of those positions. Management was usually very pleasant and tried to make things as simple as possible on people. The job in and of itself is a stressful job. Most people can't stand to see the things EMT's see. Some days its non-stop and you don't get lunch, other days you might do nothing. But you grow close to those that you work with and rely on. They are amazing people there, and you definitely would not regret working there, even if you only volunteer. Its more than just work experience because they take the time to teach you, help you improve into a better EMT.
