SC ran full Criminal check, credit history, drug test. It’s easier to get a firearms permit than job. Plus cannot have even a multi tool or pen knife immediately terminated and barred from ever working for them. They weren’t even happy that I have a pistol permit or that my Father picked me up from work even though he’s a cop. Told him he had to remove his gun to enter the store even in full uniform and his patrol area
If you were in charge, what would you do to make Goodwill Industries a better place to work?
Make a set schedule stop rotating shifts. Pay more because the pay sucks. It's a lot of work for what little pay you get
You work a lot of hours. The scheduling sucks if you have a family because it's rotating shifts.
I love my GUEST without them we wouldn't be in business it's all about the GUEST and CUSTOMER SERVICE
How long does it take to get hired from start to finish at Goodwill Industries? What are the steps along the way?
I applied, got called in the day after. They were all super nice and I got hired about 30 mins in and started the next day
Health insurance (not affordable for a lot of employees), Vacation pay, Sick days, At least one or two Float holidays.
Mines was bad. I applied for a retail lead position and was called in for an interview. When I showed up for the interview the manager asked me what position I applied for knowing that they can see it on the computer. When I told her it was for a retail lead she told me the position has been filled and they only had a donation attendant position left. I didn't complete the interview because I felt that they were unorganized and unprofessional. They wasted my time and gas. I bet they gave the position to another worker before my interview. You don't handle business that way it makes the company look terrible.
