If I was in charge, I would probably keep a better eye on how corporate employees in general, have a production/warehouse manager per store location (the store managers have enough on their plates as it is and the production manager would simply be in charge everything that is related only to production such as each individual employee's production goal, training, constantly checking on stock for supplies such as clothe tags, making sure employees who have to price stuff are not pricing to high or to low, calculating total production numbers both item wise and money wise accurately, helping with production, and maybe a few more things depending on store location and etc). Make sure that every employee regardless of type of job gets the training they need and information. Not overwhelm the main store manager too much (I would actually do my very best to understand any concerns they have regarding the store they are working in long as they are honest and are willing to work with me with coming up with solutions to try solving any problems they are trying to solve). Give all employees the right to give suggestions when they feel it is absolutely needed such as a suggestion being ordering more hanger racks or having a huge donation box made for right outside the donation door so when someone isn't able to answer the donation door right away, the donater can just put their goods in the box unless it is something such as a sofa or table and that will be when they should call the store location's number so employees can assist as soon as possible. Get on the employees who do not do their jobs like they were assigned to (if an employee is constantly only pulling clothes when they should be putting clothes that are on the racks from production away, then that employee should get up to three warnings and then if the employee continues then up to three write ups, and then if the employee continues after the third write up should then get fired). Make sure that any employee with disabilities is treated equally and is paid at least minimum wage (it is NOT an disable employee's fault if they are unable to perform a job task as quick as a undisable employee because that disable employee's disability might prevent them from completing work related tasks at a quick pace). Allow employees throughout all the districts to shop at the store they work at any day they want long as it not during work hours and to only be allowed to buy what is on the sale floor only (this would help with sales numbers a lot). Allowing every employee at least 3 days of sick leave with a note from a doctor along with at least 1 week of vacation per year (except employees that only worked for less than 6 months). Make that any employee is told in at least a week in advance about any work hours getting cut or any kind of changes that will effect their employment in any way.

Make sure there is job equality. If two people have the same job title make sure that they are both doing the same amount of work. Not one working hard and the other standing around.

I would make sure that employees daily needs inside of and out side if home where good, if they are not I would address the situation immeadiatly a stable healthy individual makes a great employee. I would rotate each employee at least every other shift to keep them from getting burn out. Also employees should be able to purchase items with out having to wait a 24 hour period they are paid minimum wage pay and are usually low income familys. Goodwill should provide needed monetary assistance for all employees in need at least once a year. Provide them with clothing if needed for work dress code. I say all this about the employees because most of us were customers first and in need of financial security and in the beginning it was started to help the poor with jobs and goods. It was started for needy families. It is said to be a Jon profit but I don't see where they offer anything that we can't get from our government already. So from my short experience working at Goodwill it has really disappointed me to know how it works on the inside.

Short n sweet better monitoring of employee health n health care. Setting up better training facilities for employees too learn and know proper means of physical training . such as gym opportunities n training in dietary n food intake . offer employees free or reduced memberships to Gyms . training classes in CPR and other life saving skill. Soly for the purpose that not all employees work in a office many work directly with the public ie: truck drivers truck loading personnel cashiers stock people warehouse technicians grounds keepers ECT. All so would increase training classes PAID for all employees in safety . better security for all staff in retail n management .more and better classes offers to all employees on life skills such as health , Psycological, and physical. For healthy n happy employees make a better work place creating more classes in positive n productive work ethics and life ethics such as parenting classes training in the conciquences of alcohol n drug abuse . also offer more job training programs for GoodWill is more than just a retail store it is a publicly recognized industry that works hand n hand with the public on a daily basis end game these few things create a better and more healthy work environment hence lower insurance n job related injuries n cost for the company .

This is the most important and honest answer and i believe Goodwill would greatly profit from ... Simplify the prices on entire items.. it's all donated so it needs to be cheap. All of one style of clothing like T-Shirts, Shorts, etc need to be one price for the entire syle of items. All shirts one price and all shorts are one price. ECT. More importantly prices of 2nd hand clothes need to be lower than new items. last Present the clothes better, present the store better by organization and cleanliness. And continue making discount days a big deal. People will buy more and donate more this will be great for business and will boosts shoppers moral and make Goodwill the BEST thrift store.
