Amazing company

Amazing company, great benefits, cool co-workers. Very demanding work in a challenging, fast paced environment where "thriving in ambiguity" is expected. Be prepared to be challenged!

Fun and work life balance

Great place to work, great pay, and I just love it so much, couldn't really ask for better. If I had to start over I would work here again for sure. :)

Excellent opportunity for learning

I was pleased to find Google offered many different learning courses. Having a company that allows plenty of schedule freedom incentivizes me to be the most productive I can be while at work.

I loved my job & truly respected my direct manager

My role supported many moving parts in several time zones, so more often than not, my days were 10-12hr days. I truly enjoyed my job so I didn’t mind. I felt supported by my team & direct manager and I enjoyed the growth and mentorship that was provided.

Pros

All the perks are amazing and if you have strong leadership, that makes it all even more amazing

Cons

Unexpected layoff even with high performance, work life balance

Good Searches.

Search bar works well. They give an extraordinary amount of information and websites for the search content that you enter into their search bar. So that is really good.

Disappointing Experience as a Project Manager

My time as a Project Manager at Google was nothing short of disappointing. Despite the company’s reputation, my experience was far from what I had expected.First and foremost, the workload was overwhelming. The constant pressure to deliver results often led to burnout among team members. The work-life balance, which I had heard so much about, was practically nonexistent.Communication within the teams was abysmal. Despite Google’s emphasis on collaboration, there was a lack of transparency, and important information was frequently withheld. This made it incredibly challenging to coordinate projects effectively. Moreover, the company’s obsession with endless meetings seemed counterproductive. Instead of focusing on actual work, it felt like we were spending most of our time in meetings that rarely led to meaningful outcomes. The so-called perks were also overrated. The extravagant amenities, while nice, couldn’t make up for the overall toxic work environment. It often felt like a superficial attempt to mask the underlying issues. In summary, my time as a Project Manager at Google left me thoroughly disappointed. I had hoped for a fulfilling and innovative experience, but it turned out to be a stressful and disheartening ordeal. If you value work-life balance and a supportive work culture, I would advise looking elsewhere.

Great pay/benefits, culture was overall good but tech can be risky

Flexible hoursLearned about about tech industryMiddle management was great, C-suite was less desirableCulture was supportive on immediate team, but broader company perspective and inclusivity was less desirableHardest part was feeling the need to fake itBest part was pay and benefits

Pros

Cons

Company isn't as progressive in some initiatives like competitors, they are also fair sure to make decisions

Great job and great pay

Worked here for about a year until mass layoffs back in January. Google was a great place to work at! However your experience can highly vary on the team you are supporting.
