Great job and great pay

Worked here for about a year until mass layoffs back in January. Google was a great place to work at! However your experience can highly vary on the team you are supporting.

Great Company to Work for

Great company to work for, candidate can be a little arrogant and not understand that as a recruiter you are there to help them through the hiring process or can even have a say in whether or not you get the job, but overall it was a great experience.

Amazing

Google is an amazing company with an incredibly supportive community. I enjoyed my time there, my team was so kind and my manager was one of the best I've had.

Dream Job

This company is an absolute dream to work for. Granted, I was a contractor, although my experience was still seamless. It is a bummer that we experienced so many lay offs recently which makes them lose a great deal of respect and trust. My time there was spent always having a new adventure. There were so many different easter eggs to find, lots of different events and restaurants to attend to frequently. Everyday was filled with free food and coffee, a dream come true. Both of my dotted line managers were incredible. My team always showed that they cared for me and was willing to do anything they possibly could to allow me to succeed.

Fun place to work as no great benefits if you are full time. TVcs do not get the same access to things.

Cons: Poor management and not a good work/life balance if you are a recruiter. You are always trying to keep up with metrics and meet them even if it takes from your personal time.

Great experience

-Worked as a contractor and was able to meet inspiring and hardworking teammates-Though my team was great, the difference between contracted workers and full-time workers was definitely felt, especially around team activities, meetings and no access to certain buildings.

they are ok

Just to clarify I worked for ttec on the Local Service by Google campaign all I can say is don't work here that are horrible. The commission is horrible, the is no run to advance in the company due to the BPO status, and lead quality is sub-par at best.

Great place to work

Great place to work. Rapid and constant growth, so make sure you're ready to keep up. Absolutely amazing food. So grateful for it, since it was the only time I'd leave my desk.

Great experience even as a contractor..

I love working at Google! If you get a chance to work here, definitely do it! Whether you come in as a contractor or a permanent employee, you definitely will get the experience of a lifetime. With that being said.. I do feel like contractors (known as TVCs) are treated differently. I still think there is an overall great culture, but I wish they gave TVCs some of the resources they give permanent employees. Part of the reason I'm open to other opportunities is that there really isn't a clear path to conversion, the line is pretty blurred. Not to mention you have to re-interview for it. Google loves people that "thrive in ambiguity" but as a TVC it's a little concerning when you don't have much guidance on how to push for conversion. You are essentially doing the exact same job as permanent employees, but apart from good numbers they want to see other intangibles to really have a strong case for conversion. Some of the top performers on my team were TVCs but unfortunately are not at Google anymore because they didn't make it through the conversion process. Would I take this job as a TVC again? Probably. I admire this company and love how much you grow as a professional. I am definitely still gonna give the conversion process a shot, but I'm also realistic and know I need to be keeping my options open.

Pros

Culture, Great Food, Great Ammenities, Great Work/Life Balance, Great people

Cons

Ambiguity, No clear career trajectory for TVCs

Lots of Perks, Great Pay, Mediocre Manager

It was a lot of fun working a Google. The free food was amazing, the pay was great, and the perks were second-to-none. I thought they could have hired and promoted better managers though.

Pros

Free food, pay, flexibility

Cons

Mediocre supervisors

Management

Google is an outstanding place to grow in your career. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to work on the Ugrad team as well as Google Brain. Management is very hands off- but helpful; allowing recruiters to learn quickly without feeling micromanaged. If it were not for my contract ending, I would forever stay with this team.

Great place, great people.

I've been working here since they were 300 people, watching it grow has been great, working with interesting people on great challenges. Day to to day you're tackling interesting challenges, and they've been able to handle the growth well.
