It was very fun when I worked here, I liked the challenge of having new tasks and the ability to self manage was a big benefit. They let you use your own work experience to complete there tasks. It is a fun place to work.

There are other options

The workplace culture is one big clique and the atmosphere is dry as soon as you walk in the door. In terms of leadership, There is no feedback or constructive criticism provided on a regular basis. Thus, a lack of measurement to see one’s growth. Manager was unavailable and unaware of the team’s production which lead to a lot of the blame being put on the general staff. If you’re looking to get into the insurance industry and understand the cliche American office culture, then this might be a fit for you.

Bad culture

The culture here is awful. Unprofessional atmosphere with constant pressure applied from 5 directions. Leadership has no real leadership abilities, and it shows. Highly recommend staying away.

Poorly supported training program for new staff.

What is the best part of working at the company?Free food occasionally when insurance brokers came in to let us know about new policy available.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Not being properly trained on HQ. No supportive teamwork. Upper management would tell us to use senior leadership if needed. When you did ask for help they would act like they were brothered.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Everyone is out for their selves. No supportive teamwork. A new person felt out of place and alone.

Management is always lively!

When I worked here, everyone felt like family. They always made it fun and there was always an activity to do to being us all even closer. Great place to work!

Great family owned company that cares about its employees. Innovative and always open to new ideas. I have worked her for 10 years and love the flexibility and family atmosphere. Offer great benefits too! Amazing place to work

Wow - awesome company

Been here over 20 years and have watch the company grow in all directions. Definitely a family first company with the main focus on the agents. For company to be successful they have to be successful.

Fun and Friendly Environment

This is a fun place to work and the people are very friendly! They are always willing to help and take the time to make sure that you have what you need. I will be using there services in the future and I recommend them highly!

So Blessed & Proud to work here!

I feel genuinely blessed to work with the Gordon Family. I am a current employee of 6 yrs working in staff support. Upon 5 years of employment they offer an international trip, then one every three years after that! We get many free meals, coffee, & are treated like we are all part of the family. One way to see this is through our voluntary after work events, such as softball & bowling. Our team members choose to play together outside of our work environment. We are the strongest FMO when it comes to training. We hold training all over the country plus Puerto Rico! We are also the strongest when it comes to social media. I’m very proud to be a part of this organization! If someone hires in to a position which isn't a good fit - we always try to find a fit before losing them!

Great place to work

Was let go due to major Down sizing and was eliminated. I enjoyed working for the Insurance industry and learned a lot from my peers. It was unfortunate that the owners retired and a new person came in and made many changes, which effected many others.

I enjoy working here, but the compensation is very low. I love the managers , employees and environment. They are family friendly and truly understand the balance.

Be Wary

Gordon Marketing was a fantastic place to start out working as a Summer Intern. However, a full-time job could be more complicated. Some people are only there to punch in and punch out. They do the work, but it's not very thorough. In this specific company that cannot happen, it never should, but if this position is not something you are truly passionate about or could care less about the numbers than please DO NOT waste the company's time. Management is alright; they have some issues, but it's nothing that cannot be worked around.

Unethical Work Environment

There are absolutely no consequences for unethical behavior. HIPAA violations occur weekly. Since this an insurance company, this should not be the case.

No benefits

It started out very well, but office politics were terrible. Some managers were unfriendly and impatient. I never felt like I was much appreciated after a very good beginning.

Great place to work!

Extremely enjoyable place to work. Friendly staff and management. Hardest part of the job was picking which bagel to eat in the morning. (free breakfast)

Self employeed

I was an insurance salesman who sold medicare plans to seniors. Its very rewarding work as you get to help older people with there insurance needs. I really enjoyed this job.

i set my own hours and worked around my own schedule

Cons

medicare is seasonal and its hard to make a living doing this year around
