A bit of a catch-22 is that the more capable you are, the more essential you become in a small organization. This means the better you are at your job, the more wide-ranging your role will be - I was honestly kind of looking for this after working at a place where everyone was territorial and bad at delegating, but this isn't the place for someone who likes to "coast" along.

Fast paced and a bit ad hoc. More senior hires recently has led to clearer processes and less of a DIY vibe, but generally speaking I think work-life balance is solid compared to most startups, in part because it comes in bursts related to new launches.

Raises are tied to promotions but if you're not promoted usually raises were given in ~February or so 1x year during performance reviews, but this year (2018) the CEO decoupled the two so that reviews are not tied to raises. The thinking was that this way the company isn't even late to giving someone a raise (or forced to give one too early). Everyone seems pretty happy with this from what I've heard.

I work 10 to 7 or so; some people are 9 to 6 or so. Others are 11 to 8. It's really up to you as long as you make most of the core meetings and keep up on your work.
