Hard workers beware!
Forklift Operator/acting Shipping Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Brooklyn Park, MNMarch 15, 2019
There is a long kept culture of indifference there. Hard work isn't truely valued, no matter how many hours or positions you cover, you won't be compensated monetarily. Veterans there speak frequently about the unfairness of the workload compared to pay as they watch management receive bonuses for keeping costs down. There is a complete lack of respect from some of the management and indifference from others.

Press Assistant (Former Employee) –  Stratagraph OshkoshMarch 10, 2019
They are a very poorly run place. You will be forced to work 60 or more hours a week as they cannot keep anyone there. The turn over rate is at least 90% lots and lots of temp workers. You have a supervisors that know nothing about the jobs and can't help you at all.
Pros
pay check

Working all the time

Solid place to start at in corrugation
Machine Operator (Former Employee) –  Brooklyn Park, MNFebruary 10, 2019
Solid place to start in corrugation with plenty of raises the first year but once you've been there for a year plus the raises start to vanish. 401k plan and benefits are really good tho. Ended up leaving to work at a competitor for $6 more an hour. They can't compete with the union corrugation shops as far as salaries. Management is decent and fair but as far as moving up and making more money here don't count on it.

Cool people/supervisors

Employees always get their hours and GNC has excelent benies
Maintenance Mechanic (Current Employee) –  Brooklyn Park, MNFebruary 7, 2019
I love working here. I know there is better but GNC is perfect for me, for now. Very safe place to work, well below the acceptable injury rate. No injuries is of course what is hoped for but they are well below average. Great safety program here.

Maintenance Technician (Current Employee) –  Blue Island, ILJanuary 27, 2019
I enjoyed working at Great Northern. they gave an older, such as myself, candidate an opportunity to learn a new skill set. They are friendly and patient. I always felt welcomed and that I was part of a team there. You will be exposed to the elemnts so you need to be ok with the weather, rain, wind, snow, ice, etc.
Pros
Graet place for learning new skills.
Cons
Seaman Turner can be a very unpleasant person to work for. Hes the only reason I'm leaving.

Forklift Operator (Former Employee) –  Brooklyn Park, MNJanuary 17, 2019
A packaging/graphic design that specializes in shipping boxes. I was a material handler and mainly picked orders to be shipped out for delivery. Repetitive work, poor management, and close to no training for new employees.

Assembly and Warehouse Manager (Former Employee) –  Brooklyn Park, MNJanuary 7, 2019
It is a small pair of facilities that wanted to have one person fulfill Operations Management and Manufacturing Engineering tasks. I was tasked with appraising the efficiency of the satellite plant. When a list of deficiencies was found, I prioritized them and called the Team together to introduce some needed changes. When Team Members could take on the tasks, they were delegated appropriately. Other times, I was able to influence and train them up to speed. Other times, I headed up the tasks myself. The path of the produce was streamlined and the warehouse was set in order. The Team and I were able to increase throughput by 10%.
Pros
Lots of oportunites to increase production
Cons
Leadership is sketchy on support and buy in

Crew Member (Current Employee) –  WisconsinMay 31, 2018
The people are great, but the wages and advancement are pretty terrible. Free coffee at break, vending machines. All are decent. Talk to the people here and your days will go by pretty quick.

This place just sucks. You can do better.
Operator (Former Employee) –  Appleton, WIMay 13, 2018
they work swing shift...change your hours on a dime. They are good at cutting you down in front of other employees...even if you worked as hard as you can. Machines run so fast...people can't keep up..then management gets down on the people. They fire people weekly. And- they keep doors closed in summer to keep the heat inside to bake your brains. A total control thing that the company uses - and then takes all the fans away on top of it. Find yourself an air controlled job. Summers are way too hot in there.

Poor management team and co worker bully each to force them out
Production Associate (Former Employee) –  Stratagraph OshkoshApril 20, 2018
Usually scheduled 8 hr shift at stratagragh oshkosh. Also scheduled 1 Saturday off month (work 2 saturadays in row then off one). Also scheduled overtime during week to cover other shifts almost 3 times a week. Co workers on packaging lines bully others they don’t like to the point they quit or don’t show again. HR and supervisors have no idea what is going on on floor. Sent home many times due to lack of work. Lots of time pushing brooms. Not a place I would recommend to anyone unless very desperate
Pros
none

Factory Worker (Former Employee) –  Racine, WIApril 4, 2018
Each day consisted of 8 hours of repetitive lifting, palletizing, loading, adjusting machinery. Work conditions are not the best, as expected of a cardboard manufacturing plant. Very loud work environment, must wear ear protection at all times.

I worked a summer job at GNC
INK TECHNICIAN (Former Employee) –  Appleton, WIMarch 28, 2018
The summer program is great for anyone looking to make a good amount of money before college starts. They require you to be a full-time student to be able to apply for this position so keep that in mind. Overall a great place to work but the scheduling can be kind of tough since it is swing shift work.
