Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Greater Opportunities continued to serve its clients. I couldn't ask for a better group of people to work with—opportunities for advancement.
Head Start Lead Teacher in Chenango County, NY
on September 20, 2022
if you are looking for Head Start jobs, it is better to look for other agencies. there are very strange structure in this agency's Head Start program. lots of tuttle telling among employees. employees who dont have proper educational background are sitting in supervisory position. in addition we only get 2 personal day off during 10 months period. i was wrtten up for taking no pay day off for being sick.
Head Start Home Visitor in Bainbridge

if you are looking into working for Head Start, you should look for other agencies. staff there are turning in each other to authoritiesfor every single mistake. have to share the small office with other staff where everyone is watching and listening. not many staff seem to have proper education but in the higher position for being there longer. the pay and benefit is awful. 10-month Head Start staff only get 2 "personal day off" because they get so called Head Start day offs in December and April. i was written up for taking no-pay day off for being sick. definitely not worth working for $15/hour. i was let go but now have a much better job, yet, still mending financial mess.
Director of Adult Education in Norwich, NY
on November 6, 2019
I was the director of the Adult Literacy Program at OFC for 3 years. I loved my job and the collaborative culture. Pay was very low compared to similar positions around the state, but really enjoyed both staff and my students.
