Great company culture

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Great company, great employees, Great management I always felt like I could reach out to manager for anything! They have a family oriented culture. once a month they have events for employees where they play soccer and make hot dogs. Only downside was working under different weather conditions and some Saturdays.

Pros

good benefits

Cons

work some saturdays, work under different weather conditions

There is no fun in the work place there. Just work as a slave to make the owner his money, owner is not nice if a employee makes small minor mistake.

Salary is not the best if your forman that has quite a few years under belt. They expect so much from employees especially when it comes to the winter months doing snow removal. And they make employees buy rain gear out of there own pocket with no company reimbursement same goes with work boots.

Pros

None

Cons

They expect so much and no gratautied.

Typical day at Greenscape.

A typical day at Greenscape digging up trenches, connect piping, etc. I learned to do all the things listed below and plenty more. The workplace culture was manly Hispanics and Americans, it was a good and well environment. Management was good, only thing that wasn't pleasant was the low pay. Nothing was hard about the job and the most enjoyable part was everything.

Pros

Health insurance.

Cons

Low pay.

Horrible Management and labor pay

HERE IS YOUR WARNING!! They promise you a raise when the new budget comes out but you don't get it. They have favorite employees, if you dont brown nose then your not going to get anywhere. If you like to be treated like a second class citizen then you'll like it here. They have one Project Manager that will treat you bad, horrible attitude, he will curse you out if HE is having a bad day. If you mess up one time go ahead and start looking for another job, because they will be looking for the smallest thing to fire you over. They pay the Mexican seasonal guys that they bring over more than the laborers that are there all season. Management is never on the same page, one Project Manager will approve a day off and when you comeback your getting fussed at by another one because the managers did not communicate. The laborers are great guys but get paid horribly. If you like busting your butt for $12.00 an hour this is the job for you (it may say $14.00 an hour but that is a lie, trust me please). Laborers should make way more than what they make, they are the hardest working ones there. The only way to move up in this company is if you brown nose. People move up in the company that have lost commercial properties and have literally been asked to leave a property halfway through a job. A lot of illegal substances are used and sold through the employees, bad thing is is that upper management knows about it and does absolutely nothing. Don't expect to have a home life you will work from sun up to sundown. If your a Foreman you will make sorta decent money. Also, I was -

Pros

Foreman are paid kinda decently

Cons

Management, labor pay

Great staff, but be bilingual or willing to learn. Good on the job training. Great hours for the hot seasons. More Than a lot different training for you to learn.

Pros

Great training

Cons

Very straight forward and simple tasks

The workplace culture was a bit goofy because there were a lot of teenagers working but the managers did a good job of staying on top of who was performing up to standards or who was slacking off. I enjoyed the freedom of the job the most because we got to walk around outside and typically worked with a partner; this was also the hardest part of the job because it could be easy to get off task but working in this laid back environment taught me the value of responsibility and integrity in the work place.

Pros

Lots of breaks, work out doors

Cons

short hours

Productive and a good working enviroment

A typical day at work requires reading emails, addressing all phones messages, reviewing the financial reports for the day and delegating work to other office staff members. Make sure that all payroll time cards come in and apply them to the payroll system. Make collection calls and billing new customers. Enter all new information into the Quickbooks system and report to the President on a daily basis to update on what is going on for that day.

Pros

A good environment to work

Cons

No benefits

Great group of people to work with

Every day at work was a fun and pleasant environment. Everyone on the crews got along well and completed all tasks and job on or before deadlines. However it was sometimes difficult to get paid on time.

Not a good company to work for.

Worse company I have worked for. The management SUCKS! They do not care about you. All they care about is the bottom line.
