Don’t recommend working at GHC.
Resource RN (Former Employee) –  Madison, WINovember 16, 2017
Minimal/ poor training to succeed in job, with non helpful Managment.

As an RN expect to sit a lot and not get a lot of excercise. On the phone most of time with very minimal direct patient contact.

Very profit centered, not a Co-op model due to need to keep growing and expanding.
Cons
In active, back issues, and gain weight.

The work environment is friendly and supportive. Management cares about their employees but there is not always clear communication when changes are made. Flexible scheduling.

Rewarding job helping patients obtain their prescription coverage
Pharmacy Systems Technician (Current Employee) –  Madison, WIMarch 11, 2014
My 10 hour-4 day week starts at 7am with free coffee. Process formulary exception requests that were sent overnight via fax. Answer questions from patients and clinics regarding prescriptions throughout the day. Post receipts from Medicare and State of WI employee insurance payments.
I honed my customer service techniques over the past years through experience and corrective action. My co-workers are friendly and cooperative.
Hardest part of my job is telling patients that something is not covered by insurance and that they have to pay full price. The enjoyable part of my job is telling patients that they are fully covered or that they will be receiving a refund.
Pros
Free coffee, company furnished 403(b), generous time off per year
Cons
long hours, long commute

Great place to work
Epic Clinical Analyst (Former Employee) –  Madison, WIJanuary 2, 2014
The work environment at Group Health was very positive. Management had a culture of using brainstormning sessions during meetings, to vet new functionality which I really liked. The caliper of staff GHC has, is superior in talent and knowledge for the systems it supports.
Pros
Good work environment, nice work culture, good people
Cons
Pay is the only thing I can think of.
