Would be a job you could retire at if the owners (the koch brothers) weren’t so greedy. You work harder and way more overtime while being paid way less compared to other local manufacturers. You don’t have mauve home life working here. Up the pay and cut some overtime and it’ll be a great place to work.

During my years at Guardian, my job experience was great The team work demonstrated by all my fellow workers was that of everyone doing their part to get the job done. The workplace culture was that of respect and courteous. The hardest part of my job was working 16 hour shifts. My most enjoyable part was working with others who were on the same page as me in completing a days work in an effortless manner. Management was always avalable to support workers and assist with questions/issues as needed.

New hire on supervisors think they know everything mini they will never fix that completely thats the most stressful place to be in when in the cold end place is short staff on crews and supervisor want you to do more then u can.Example run two machines at once use to be a great place to work would stay but the stress the put on you is crazy I wish any one who comes to this place good luck stay longer then 2 years

High turnover though good pay proves there is problems

The location in Dewitt has a 1.2 on glassdoor for a reason. Besides the heat the job isn't too hard. It is how they treat people that gives them over a 50% turnover rate. Be prepared to run short frequently, work 4 required overtime days a month and be blamed for normal human errors. Constantly losing long time employees and struggling to keep new ones. The company has changed 3 years after Koch industries bought them. Management is untrustworthy and supervisors last about two years. Most supervisors and managers are from the outside so if advancement is what you are looking for you won't find much here. No collaboration and safety is important unless...

Long hard hours, but satisfying work

Working for Guardian was challenging and fast paced, but it came with a real sense of accomplishment. It's a place I would recommend to a friend. If I hadn't left to get my A&P license I would still be working there.

This job is for those that need to make more than a 40 hour paycheck.

On the surface the rotating schedule, 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off, repeat. Seems pretty good. But then you add in mandatory OT and you seldom ever have a whole weekend off. There is no work / life balance. This job is built for people that cannot live on a 40 hour weekly paycheck. Lots of OT available and good health benefits. Pays the bills but your kids will never see you.

This wouldn't have been a bad place to work, except the building was built before the 20th century, and half of the equipment was probably manufactured before the Korean war explaining why the facilities are no longer there. Just wasn't worth putting money into.

TOXIC and a nightmare, culture will cause HEALTH concerns.

The work environment and culture will cause you health problems! Very TOXIC! Very poor upper management replacing seasoned leaders with college graduates that got their experience from how to manage from the book for dummies from Barnes and Noble. Accountability is pushed down to lower level managers and supervisors turnover is over 100% they literally turned over a whole workforce in 1 year. It’s a revolving door. I have hired and seen 3 supervisors that only worked for less than a month in the last 6 months due to the culture. MBM is a laughing stock among the hourly and don’t buy into any of it the Koch culture turned a decent company into a nightmare a place where you fear to loose your job or livelihood. If you value your health and peace of mind don’t even bother to read their job ad.

Typical day at work-Coworkers don't speak to each other/supervisor never said hi/bye. One time it was hurry up/next time being scolded for not being safe. What I learned was never to work at this place again unless unfairness is what you're into. Management is unfair based on who they hang out with on the weekends-these people don't have to follow safety rules while others do. Breaks are unfair based on who you know. Get to take a longer one if you giggle with supervisor. Workplace culture is don't practice what you preach. Hardest part of job is watching the inconsistency of rules. Most enjoyable part was quitting.

buddy system; not truthful; lack of job training; lack of safety training

They offer you a job and force you into a very different position. They promise training for the new role, yet they provide ZERO TRAINING. Since you are unfamiliar with the new job, you are criticized and threatened because you don't know how to perform the job.

They force some people to work in high voltage electrical panels with absolutely no electrical training.

They force some people to work with deadly chemicals and acids with absolutely no safety training. They tell you not to do the work if you aren't comfortable; then they threaten to fire you for not doing the work.

They used to provide safety training for the hazardous and deadly chemicals and acids but they threw all of that out the window. They now say that your safety is your own responsibility. However, they provide training for production workers, just none for maintenance or technical positions.

Good place to gain factory experience. They preach safety which helps you develop a safety mindset. its a good place to work to gain experience to go to 3M or Lyndell
